I get Shell Diesel Plus whatever that is, only because is 1.01p and cheaper than everywhere else around here which wants 1.05p!

Petrol/Diesel at just over 1 pence per litre would be wonderful.

Unfortunately round here normal unleaded is about 101.9 p per litre.

Tried it in my diesel Focus, didn't notice any difference. BP Ultimate however noticeably makes the car quicker off the mark, much much quieter, and mpg went up by 10mpg!

Most modern cars these days with their computer controlled engines and with respect to this subject, ignition timing, can automatically adjust ignition timing to run with anything from 95 RON (in many cases less) up to 98 RON. So even my wifes 2003 Mazda 6 2.0 petrol can take advantage of up to 98 RON fuel.

The knock sensor in most engines is there to protect the engine from damaging itself on poor fuel. You won't see more power except on high performance cars. I really doubt you'd see a Mazda 6 gaining any power on a rolling road run by using super unleaded.

All I have is a 2006 Fiesta Zetec 1.4. I'm not expecting to see my car suddenly do 0-60 in 5.5s, but you know what I mean. If I could get 50mpg instead of 45, then surely it's worth it?

The engine management, even if it has a knock sensor, won't be set up for sensing super u/l so it won't make any difference. Many mass produced cars don't have knock sensors because fuel quality is so stable nowadays there isn't the need and its an added expense in production.

It clearly states in the manual that adapts to fuel in that range (forget exact wording), however I have tried Tesco's 99 in the car and could not tell any difference.
