  • if you are resident at the address as owner or as the person renting it you do have to register on electrol roll as you are liable for the councill tax

I personally dont think that it is a mandatory thing to be on the electorol roll, but i know that banks etc, its the first thing they look at to assertain that you live where you say you live.
that is pretty much break or make when it comes to the credit score.
as for DCA - hate them all. weather its teh training given or just there personality, they are too much and scare tactics are un called for!!!!

My housemate is a debt collector. She tells me sometimes she think "Hmm, who's day should I ruin now?". I'm like ":-| Hun, that's not good!". But then again I do hear the story from both sides and she tells me about some of the stupid things people do, like making appointments to come in and not turning up then getting charged for it, signing away £3k for a £400 loan (even when she tells them they will be paying extortionate interest on the loan, most don't seem to even register it). There are 2 sides to every coin I suppose.

However, having a debt collector housemate means I do benefit from getting free and full credit reports for myself and a few others ;)
  • oh yes there are two sides to every story it just makes me wonder how they can do the dirty work for there employers, there must be a little power trip.... i can attempt to ruin some ones day today.... i have to work for my money and if spoke to people the way they do i would be down the road,

    Try this site http://www.charnwood.gov.uk/democracy/electoralregister.html
it states that its an offence not to complete and return the registration form, not directly that its an offence not to be on the roll?
