    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi all

Just got up after my nightshift and not back in work till Tuesday :j.

Going out tonight with a work colleague - he is the one who offered to give me £25,000 - I declined. He is the only one who knows of me level of debt .
Will need to get some cash out of ATM later but not going overboard. He usually drives when we go out and doesnt drink so we usally go dutch over the drinks and I normally buy a meal for us both. He knows I am trying to cut down the spending so there is no meal out tonight :EasterBun. We are really good friends (Iam a female :female:) we go out about once every cycle of days off.

My challenge for July was to only buy food from Aldi, Netto, Lidl etc I am also going to try to buy as little as possible on the clothes front for the rest of the year - if I need anything the only purchases well be from Primark or other discount clothes stores.

    Opening balance +£1008.86
My share of mortgage cos I pay council tax, water, phone etc etc
    - £150.00
closing balance +£858.86 and dropping rapidly!!

You made me laugh. He is an absolute gem and had it been anyone else offering I would have accepted the offer. He has been a shoulder to cry on and he knows all about my OH's internet antics.

Another reason why I cannot accept is because he has a wife and half of his money is hers, she doesnt like me. I cant blame her really-I work in a mainly male environment and she cannot accept her husband having female friends. I have tried to get her involved in nights out but she flatly refuses. My OH doesnt have a problem with me going out with my friend but saying that maybe it gives him free time to surf the dating/affair internet sites :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: xx

Lol Westie...I love your good humour :P With all of my exes I tried to be very nonspecific with gender of friends I was going out with :P Currently spend a lot of time with NastyEx's (tm) best friend! Even my bezzie mate Nick (we would be oh-so-perfect for eachother- if there was chemistry!) who's more like a sister to me, would set my ex off into a rage if I even mentioned him, sigh!

Anyway, rock on payday, you're doing great :)

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time

What a wonderful pal you have...

    Will you share him?

    But as for the wife
I cant blame her really-I work in a mainly male environment and she cannot accept her husband having female friends
    - I'm sorry but I find that no excuse.

DH works in mainly female environment & there have been occasions with love letters being sent to him (this was as scary to him as it was to me - & his bosses), him offering female friends our spare room until they get settled & texts galore at all hours of day & night from staff but there is only kindness in his offers and he is a genuine bloke - just like your friend sounds.

Treasure your friend as they don't come along like that often.

Further update re my bank balance.

    Opening balance +£858.86
    - £50 cash withdrawn on Friday for night out (still got £35.00 plus a few pence left in purse)
-£25.99 (nieces birthday present - got her Wii game EA Sports active - was supposed to be £35.99 at Morrisons but had 2 £5.00 vouchers that you get when points for fuel) - could have opted to take her out for the day but she lives in Spain so that was a no no.

    Closing balance +£782.87

This is going to be an expensive month as the quarterly gas bill is due £186.70 and electricity £207.35. I will only have to pay half and we have a tin that we put coins in to go towards these bills and there in £90+ in there.
    18 days till payday.
