Crikey PaF- you HAVE been busy! :D

The man is right: you have been doing brilliantly and will continue to do so. Of course, there is always the ocassional bad day, but we all get them, even if your bad days are worse than ours.

Don't give up without finding out who has been reporting DD as 'upset'. I don't like the sound of that. I would want to know if it was a comment made with a good intentions or just idle tittle-tattle. The repercussions have been serious one way or another, though. I would want some answers.

Keep on keeping on and keep on telling us about it! ;)

  • Thank you for all your positive posts and indeed for the birthday ones!
Update: Had appt with Halifax today. A waste of time as it transpires. Their fixed rates are all much higher than the current variable rate, and they cant do anything for another month at least anyway. They could see I was in debt! and also suggested I could get some of my debt on yet another secured loan. As it happens I was rejected at the end of the enquiry, however I am not upset about that. They couldnt tell me why as my credit report shows all payts up to date etc. The reason it was appealing was that I could get rid of MBNA into a much more managable payt and with a secured loan. the interest repayable over the term would have been less than what Im paying now over the next 5 years at the rate they are currently charging me. However, that said, MBNA with the help of Financial Ombudsman could be sorted in due course anyway. So, plan to keep my mtge as it is, and take a gamble that the base rate will stay low for the time being, and then just look forward to the repayments reducing in 4 payts time by £140! With a view to securing a fixed rate nearer the time.
Care for Carers are definately liasing this week with the school. They contacted me yesterday about doing it. Yes Pickle, this weekend will see me write to the Welfare Officer for the School and ask where her info came from re dd supposedly crying.
A busy weekend ahead. Putting books out tom for collection Mon and will be hopeful of in excess of £750 with my pick up on Mon. Am going to go for it even more re my retail, and team building. Saw my new team member today. She is v keen, v nice, having spoken to her I will start up meetings I used to have at home on a more regular basis again. Invite everyone in my team round, do some training, etc, have a cuppa, do some recognition etc.
Plan to sort out my garden, the grass needs mowing and my roses cut back! Everything looks weedy or dead at mo!Dd will be "helping" me!
Also, plan to make 2 birthday cakes for friends whose birthdays are both on the 12th. Dd will be helping me!
Also will be finalising my tax return for accountant. Dd will not be helping me!! I will feel happier once I know whats happening there. The money I was credited today by tax credits is completely different to their most recent advice which says to me that the supposed over payment they say I owe them is wrong too as I know it to be!. My accountant will sort it out, I also believe Inland Rev will owe me some money or I wont have to pay so much on account. Yes, I def need to get my tax return done, so much depends on it.

So, onward and upward. I will vist some other diaries at the weekend too. This is just a quick pop in, I need to get my books finished for tom. Anyone reading, hope you are ok!

  • Just a quickie

After tax credits tellingme I owe them £1411 which is complete rubbish, they have today credited me out of the blue with just over £500. Im assuming its from them, usually is when it just says bank credit on the s/s!

Have had a very busy weekend, in the end threw caution to the wind and dd and I had supper at Frankie and Bennies. In our prev life we would go there much more frequently than now. It cost £13. It was a sort of trade off for dd working with me which she did till 9pm on friday - she slept in car while I worked on. Plus it saved me cooking, and most of all it was just nice to spoil ourselves and be together. Felt v naughty but nice! Sat saw us bake two birthday cakes for two friends, one of whom has turned the magic 40! for whom I had v little money to buy anything for. Both presents totalled less than £15 in total, however the cakes were from the heart and looked v impressive if I say so myself! Sun saw me get all my paperwork up to date, do the garden, roast a chicken and portion it into several meals in the freezer! Sort out my Kl catalogues for the week, and do some housework!

So, on that note had better depart and finish getting ready this am. I will pop into some diaries this week. Had planned to at the weekend, but time just went.

Oh and how could I forget, the most important news of all. Dd's school is holding their equivalent to the x factor and dd wanted to enter singing. Shes in the final! And she can ride her bike without stabilisers! So, we are all v excited.

Re your 'treat' with DD - there's absolutely nothing wrong with that at all so don't think you're being naughty at all. Half the time, I don't hve two pennies to rub together but I still find a tenner regularly to play golf with the boys.

In your case, DD is more than a DD (if that makes sense) so please don't feel guilty about it, she (and you) deserve it.

Good luck and keep going! :T

  • Wow!, thank you for your encouraging posts. I will catch up with you all in your respective diaries, I promise!

Well yesterday I had a nasty fall, just at the side of my house. I had been tripping up more than usual yesterday and I was telling myself to be careful, take it easy, that sort of thing. So, what do I do, come home, reverse park the car into my space. Why did I do that? I dont usually, that meant instead of getting out onto level concrete, I got out on the side where there was shingle and a nice pavement area ripe for falling over and I duly did! So, Im a bit sore today to say the least. Knees are acquiring a nice dot to dot map of scars from falls over the years, and they have some new additions!! Thank god I haven't broken anything. Any cuts on my face are under my chin which is a blessing. Its just a pain its happened. I know why it happened. I was tired.

I phoned Care for Carers on Mon to see what had happened with thelovely lady there who was happy to take the lateness issue on with the head at dds school. The head is insistent I have to sort the lateness thing out it would seem, that a lot of it is out of her hands and has suggested a meeting. Ok I said, what exactly to discuss? They know everything there is to know, are they going to offer me some help? No, it would seem. No, they just want to discuss it. They can discuss all they like, but the fact remains it exists this situation, I am not a miracle woman. Disability exists. I personally believe the head has an issue with disability. Its clearly inconveniencing her attendance targets! So, the lady from the charity completely understands where Im coming from, and I do not believe it is out of the heads hands. Im fed up with being treated like a criminial by the system, being subjected to a Social services visit for what purpose? nothing has come of that at all. Everything was explained to the relevent authorities when we were applying for schools. Its since the new head is there. And then yesterday I discovered another family have been given the ok to get their children to school by 9.45am. I dont know there situation but Im just asking for some understanding for 10 mins and its not every day. Anyway, I wished I hadn't contacted the charity to get an update. All day Mon I was going between anger and tearfulness in the car while I was working. Mon night I just couldn't get to sleep, and then yesterday happened. Care for Carers want to speak with the Welfare officer for the school before coming back to me on thursday with th eprospect of a meeting. Mum is wanting to call the school today and make an official complaint given my fall. She helped bandage me up last eve you see and is v upset any of this is happening at all.

So, I now have the questions to answer:
Am I doing the right thing by dd and me continuing having my business?
Should I consider selling my home, and depending on the state for support? Not work in other words.
How long can I physically carry on?
Is it just one dream to many to think I could have a home of our own, a business which makes me feel good and provides me and dd with independence, debt which is at last getting in the right direction, and a life that IF I can keep myself together can only get better and better? Its the IF isnt it!
    Am I kidding myself?

Anyway, having a restful day today, two ofmy dear neighbours rallied round yesterday and one of them will collect my dd later from school and look after her while I do my deliveries that were scheduled to take place yesterday afternoon. Other than that I am resting. Back to normal tom.

Have you made a complaint about the head to the local education authority in writing?..they may be able to help.
