Hi guys.
Had a lovely day at show despite everything having been really toned down because of various H&S issues  plus I got completely sunburnt! Going to be looking like a beetroot at market tomorrow!
We stopped off at the shiny new 'Insanesbury' store en route home. Not sure how SM will describe the experience but I could sum it up in one 4 letter word beginning Cr and ending with p! Don't think I'll be in too much of a hurry to go back there and wouldn't miss it if it closed tomorrow. Huge disappointment, much worse than I was expecting and my expectations were low, let me tell you. :rotfl:
Tonight is workout 5 of the C25K. Hopefully I'll complete the workout and remain fit enough to make it to market tomorrow! (Link is at www.c25k.com for whoever asked, it stands for Couch to 5 kilometres, it's a free fitness programme used by runners before they start meepmeep roadrunning.)
Hope everyone has had a good day and the weather is as fine there as here. I've hung out the washing and am tempted to do more. :TI reserve the right not to spend.

Just taking 5 minutes to breathe - always essential I find
Great news that the canner has arrived Grandma, look forward to hearing how you and SM get on with it :T
Nice to see you Skintchick, and anyone else who's popped in recently that I haven't mentioned, I have seen youGreat progress SC, it's so wonderful to think how different your life is in such a short space of time - it was a brave step you took and it's really paid off :T
The Countdown to Kathmandu list is being whittled down to the final jobs, not sure if they'll all get done but we've had a very very good try!
Got to go now as I was about to do something else off the list and OH reminded me we actually need to cook and eat - it's a bit like that at the mo :D

Least I have had a no spend day today. Still no car on the road, so not so hard to resist spending, unless its via the internet!.
Miss my charity shop rummaging fix though!. Finished the cravats, and on to making some curtains out of somefleeces. DS not due home so its just me
Hope to remember to watch the Programme on TV about reducing the food budget. But bet most of us are already there. (Especially those on the grocery challenge to. Cant remember what the programme is actually called.)When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Sounds like you are getting very productive with the sewing mooloo, at least if DS is out he isn't needing feeding so that should keep your grocery budget down a bit if he eats anywhere as much as my 19 year old DS - he only visits and leaves the fridge like a plague of locusts has flown through:rotfl:(and very unfairly grows up instead of out:rolleyes:)
Had a lovely day at the show today with Nyk and HSending with the sainsbugs opening anticlimax. I think it is really unfair that smaller/rural branches aren't stocked with some of the more obvious basics - no flour, pasta, rice, margarine, or even curry, dessert mixes etc. Obviously it isn't worth transport costs to put them on the shelves but not really fair to rural shoppers who have a shortage of any kind of retail bargains locally to start with.
Spent £4.85 in there but that included £2 for preserving pectin I ws going to buy anyway so not much temptation.

Oooh is that food budget programme on tonight? The Allega Mcwhateverher name is one? I saw that the G*ardian newspaper (online, I don't pay for paper!) has been doing some recipes from the new cookbook. So far they've been meat and fish so not much use to me.
I've been doing more proactive things towards being able to make another overpayment to the mortgage at the end of the month - by listing a load of books and Am*zon and starting with eb*y for the ones that A don't want (i.e. they'd only sell for 1p!). I've started a diary on the MFW board but feel a bit of a fraud as my track record with challenges isn't that great....live on 4k last year being a prime example....lol.0 -
Watching it now. Would like them to try and do it on our budgets!!!!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

Good evening!
Just finished cooking some work lunches and tidying/cleaning. Had a look through the threads today and found a Get-it-done thread , sort of Frylady-lite. So I decided to go there with my to-do-lists so I won't bore you with themespecially if there a bit off topic. Had a NSD today (BF got the new milk
) and went through my bedside table to see if I can find any jewelry to sell towards the savings (gonna try a Dundee based company that specialises in buying and was mentioned in another thread), not much but we'll see.
Off to couch now but will keep lurking
Ooh, missed that budget food program, try to catch it on tv on demand.
P.S. haven't watched the programme yet but went onto the website. The recipes don't seem that healthy (deep fried chicken!!)DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Good morning frunchkins:D
Just waiting for Nyk to sort out her birdies then we are off to the poultry market. Been up since 5am and have washed, hung out to dry, quick tidy around, had a bath, made some lunch to take with us and caught up with internet.
Mission for today is to get NYK home again without buying any more chickens:eek:, secondary mission is to get me home again without buying any chickens. I think we may be doomed :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Have a good day everyone:D0 -
Birdies all sorted, got up at 5.30, just pop round now if you want, am scoffing coffee n toast before leaving.
Catch up later, folks. Hope it's as warm wherever you are as it is hereI reserve the right not to spend.

Nyk and SM - DON'T BUY ANY MORE CHICKENS!
Busy day here, of course, lots of appointments and last-minute sortings out followed by a farewell meal and drinks with friends (using a voucher of course). Trouble is I am finally succumbing to the illness that everyone else around me has and I have been fighting so well for so long. Mum is worried we may end up in quaratine one end or the other and I told her if we did it would probably be the best accommodation we stay in all trip :rotfl:
Have a lovely day everyone. Not sure if I'll get on to post before we go but will try - may log in from the departure loungeIf not, I'll post from a wi-fi cafe soon xx
