glad to hear it arrived - now I can't wait to hear how you get on with it :)

(knowing how charges are collected just goes to show that I've had too many parcels from the other side of the water :rolleyes2 )

this is one company I found a while ago but not ordered from. They do not have a minimum order but if you order less than 75 euros worth they may add an extra charge. They have some very nice bottles and jars for all sorts of things.
This is another company I have been looking at. this page is for their special offers but they have loads of others on other pages. They do samples too.

Still trying to catch up on posts, is it just me or are other peeps having to log in all the time, it's getting on my nerves:confused::confused::confused:

I personally don't believe in karma at all - that one disappointment means something better is round the corner. I believe that life is random and difficult, (but with many unexpected joys too) but the more proactive we are to pursue our goals/hopes/dreams, the more likely it is we will find them because there are a million variables in the path we might take and if the 1st choice doesn't work out the 2nd choice can work out just as well by how we throw ourselves in to it and can therefore seem 'meant to be' when either option ( or the 20 million other variables:D) would have brought unexpected pay offs and good experiences.Quote..

I agree with this, there are many paths that we can take and circumstances sometimes dictate, but there is always a way forward:Diykwim

Let's be realistic, does anyone take the whole carbon footprint thing seriously? Has anyone got rid of their car, cancelled all future travel plans, stopped buying anything with packaging and only use secondhand stuff with as little need for electricity/gas/oil/coal as possible? And how, on earth, can NOT having a bank account affect your carbon footprint? And as for water shortages - not quite in keeping with rising sea levels and melting polar ice caps, is it? (Just thought I'd crank things up a bit - online debate is almost free, you can't get more frugal than that, surely?)

That carbon footprint site allows you to calculate on a month to month basis - I think I ust found me another new challenge. If I calculate it every month and then click the 'offset now' button, it tells you how much it costs to wipe your slate clean. By factoring that into the budget (or finding some place to plant my own trees!!) then I'll be well prepared for any new tax the Government may decide to impose. If they choose not to, then I'll have an extra savings pot! :D

I think like minded peeps have been doing their bit for years, but it's impossible to do it all. For instance, I do drive a car, but as I live in a smallish place, only use it when I leave town,( only did 3400 miles last year) My family live in Bristol and my son and his familly live in Cardiff, to visit them would be impossible(at least finacially) :eek:without my car, when I have a week off I stay at my mum;s and pop over to cardiff a couple of times.Using public transport, be it bus, train, or even plane would take loads of planning, loads of time and loads of cash and am sure would make my footprint much bigger

evening all, I've been bad and haven't posted for a while because I've been so busy with work and my parents came to visit. OH had to get his car fixed and unfortunately it cost £750 so that was a dent in our savings (although we were expecting it).

So while I was lurking I have reduced my loan by £700, the mortgage by an overpayment of £275 and had a fabulous appraisal at work:D And just six months ago I was despairing of what had become of my life and how I would move forward :jI am pleased with my progress. I've joined Slimming World for extra motivation to shift those pounds -it seems to allow a lot of food that traditional diets restrict so I'm hoping to find it easier to follow, although I'm doing a low GI version.

BB - good work on the painting old drawers, I'm thinking of painting my bedroom floor white later in the year. And if your neighbour opens her house you should definitely show off some off those amazing mosaics and clocks. Do the gel saddle covers stay on? I tried a gel saddle but it wasn't squishy enough and was much wider than my regular saddle:mad:

SFT - I am very jealous of your travels, and am looking forward to seeing the pics when you get home. I'm fascinated by South and central America and have it on my must see places for when my frugalness pays off and I have the money to go

bails - good luck with the trip have a fab time:D
