Cheryl, why not put anything your DD gives against the anyting else budget then if you need to move to cover the extras for having your DGDs then it will be there. If not you should end up with a credit balance in anything else.

Still have plenty in my 'anything else' (as long as I don't get any major shocks with the car next week!) while keeping my overall budget at £8k.

If I work on £8k plus the money from DD, then when my income crashes next September (down to £3k a year - possibly plus CT of another £1k) I'll have problems trying to balance everything out -- the only way would be to work out exactly what percentage of each bill is being covered by her and how much is left for me.

Taka- I'm also morbidly obese -although I'm healthy otherwise - no high BP, cholesterol, or diabeted. But I am re-starting my diet tomorrow and am really pleased you've managed to lose 11 pounds so far. It's a really difficult thing to do when you're overweight and have been trying and struggling for years so :j for you.
Well I've not got high BP as I was checked yesterday... Not sure about the others...

I almost collapsed in town on Saturday - shaking, fuzzy head, vision went really odd (sort of closed in and lost all peripheral vision ) and I don't think I was making much sense, sudden extreme sweating, nausea and came sooooooooooo close to loosing conciousness. Not good... Managed to stagger (literally :o) into boots and buy a finger of fudge and collapse on a seat. It helped no end and I stopped feeling in imminent danger of passing out so I think it was low blood sugar. There was no reason for it as I had eaten a reasonable lunch a couple of hours before - it was all horribly sudden! I felt pretty poo afterwards and really shaky. After ~20 mins I managed to make it slowly to a local small Mr S (next to the nearest bus stop to go home) and bought a sandwich to try and make me feel a bit better. :(

I headed to the doctor's yesterday and she checked me over (temp, BP, eyes, ears and throat all ok ) and took loads of blood to test for all sorts! :( I now am sporting a mahoooosive bruised wrist as she couldn't get blood from the normal inner elbow area so took it from my wrist! Ouch! It started swelling badly afterwards and despite loads of pressure I now have a bruise over 1/2 the back of my hand to just past my wrist and all around my inside wrist too - sort of butterfly shaped! I feel fine at the mo but my arm is killing me! :rotfl:

picked up about 15 picture/frames from freecycle today! Pictures of Winnie the Pooh, and friends. Plus some blank frames. I can finally put some old school photos into frames now.

Hope your nan is okay soon Lynda. Great news on the unexpected cheque, got an unexpected treat to spend it on? ;)
Sounds nasty Taka, hope the results come back okay and it was just low blood sugar.

Busy here again today, managed to get a free dental check up and eye test :T but will need to pay for work and new glasses. At least I won't have to worry about it while I'm away hopefully. In extravagant news, I've decided to use some of the rent to get a professional cleaner in as we're so short on time and noone is around to help me. The frugal/quality of life balance again. I'm trying not to think how much it costs, more how much it's worth.

I'm starting to appreciate things for the last time eg 'this is the last time I'll drive by this beautiful building for a while'. Not long now...:j

taka- it sounds like low blood sugar/low blood pressure - last time I got an early morning flight and didn't have time for breakfast that happened to me and I passed out! Diet coke seems to fix the problem - apparently something to do with stabilising body sugars and salts - which makes no sense as it's just chemicals. But my GP recommended it last time I was feeling bad after food poisoning and it worked:confused:

I start Slimming World next week and am going to make the most of the 2 free personal trainer sessions I have left with my membership to get a proper workout routine organised to suit me. I'm not sure that Slimming World is frugal but I'm hoping it might save me money on food:confused: and you can't put a price on health so it has to be done. I need supervision! I think the support of being weighed each week means I won't be able to cheat myself into thinking I'm doing well when I'm not.

    Hello all,

Taka - Glad you are okay, I feel like that sometimes when I have not had anything to eat for a while

Had a letter from TV Licencing to say my licence is going up from £11.62 to £12.12. Had a couple of NSDs, which is good, although I have to go and buy a new outfit on Sunday as I have been invited to a very posh night out...am considering leaving the tags in and taking it back...

Tried to buy tickets to see Bill Bailey but they have all gone :(. Will try ringing them tomorrow to see if they have *any* at all.

I upped my grocery budget to £100 this month, including eating out and it seems to have done the trick. I am currently at £102.42, with loads left in the freezer. Just made pork and apricots in the slow cooker...but used a pork shoulder so it has turned out *really* fatty... I guess I will try skimming the fat off. I find this a recurring problem in the slowcooker - am I using the wrong cuts?
