Thinking of moving from Orange to O2
Tried to see if this has been covered sorry if I've missed it. Orange coverage in our area is useless - however heard good results from 02 users in the area. Tried to find site for 02, without success. I want 'pay as you go'. I had heard some time ago that if you don't use all your credit within the month you lose it. Is that correct? I try to use the mobile as little as possible - so don't want to pay unnecessarily and use it just for the sake of it. Any information would be gratefully recieved. Also don't want to buy a new phone - have a Samsung approx 2 years old and love it. If I move what would be the first step to swapping. Sorry if this is old hat to other users - only just gone on to Broadband - so never could keep up with the threads before. I seem to remember you have to use 02 over the internet. As I said don't want to change phone - so what would be the step by step process, after someone has been so kind as to tell me the tariff.
Thank you for any help.

Try a Tesco mobile sim only deal. Tesco Mobile uses the O2 network. No minimum use, top up when you need to only, half price favourite numbers. To swap and keep your number, call Orange to get a PAC code and give this to Tesco mobile. They set a day to swap over networks (usually about a week). Simple really!"...IT'S FRUITY!"0

My daughter has an 02 sim card which 02 give out now and again for free or i think you can buy them online sometimes for 99p, not sure the cost from buying in the shops. If she tops up £10 a month she will get 300 text to use within the month and if she doesnt use them she looses them but she doesnt loose the £10 which can be used for calls or texts, normally this £10 will last her a couple of months sometimes longer and on her next top up that month she gets the 300 texts again plus over the months i think she gets 10% back of what shes topped up.The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0

Thank you GK172 - does anyone know if you have to have the mobile "unlocked" or is it a case of copying all my telephone numbers from my sim onto the phone and just putting the new sim in? Sorry I'm such a dunce.0

If you bought the phone on an Orange payg tariff it will most likely be locked to Orange and will not accept an O2 sim card until you have it unlocked.
Maybe someone else on here will know where to get a Samsung unlock code from, sorry, but I don't.0 -
Just a thought. If you have a mate that has an O2 card try that in your phone first to see if it works.0

Nice one superjaggybunnet!!! never thought of that one. At the moment I'm pulling hair out looking for the 02 site to see if any 99p offers are knocking around. Looking for that Site is where I came into this thread!! There's a hole in my bucket!!0

Me again! The two Samungs concerned are: Dual Bank GSM Telephone SGH-A800 and Tri Bank GPRS Telephone SGH-S300M. If I can't find a code, do I just go and ask either a High St shop or Market stall to unlock it? I think I read in one of the threads that this is not illegal in any way but I want to be sure. knowing the way my luck has been I am worried I could end up with no phones working at all. I know this sounds dramatic but you don't know me!!0

Have a look on this thread, there is a code for unlocking some samsung models and if the code doesnt work then you have to go to a shop or market to get it unlocked which is perfectly legal, it is unblocking a phone which has been reported lost or stolen which is illegal. The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Not sure if this is still active, the form's still showing though so worth a go at trying for a free sim!

I bought two contract O2 phones from www.mobileshop.com last year. They give 100 free text & 100 anytime xnet calls per month. I pay £25 per month each for the phones but claim cash back at month 6 & 12 making the contract free over the 12 months. At the end of the year I cancel contract with 02 and take out another cashback deal. This is my 3rd year of completely free mobiling. You keep the phone at the end of the 12 months and they are open to any network. I had a Motorolla V220 and Sony E T630.
There are a few threads on here about cashback deals. I have only used the above and chatterbox.com both of which paid up the cashback as promised.
