Best broadband option - is it sky?

Hi

Been with BT for 2 and a half years. Initially on option 3 for 18 months and then on option 2 for 12 months at negiotiated rate of £15 per month.

Broadband service has been fine, never suffered any donwtime and limits etc on option 2 never exceeded. But BT customer services are dreadful - have had to phone up BT after every monthly bill of the last 12 months to ensure we only paid the agreed the £15 per month! So i've had enough and requested our MAC code as out of contract - BT did not offer any incentive to stay so i'm def leaving.

Anyway currently have sky tv - full package which is definitely staying. I'm also on an orange mobile.

What's the cheapest package available that gives us a service broadly similar to bt option 2? I'm edging towards sky mid (despite downgrade to 10GB limit) as at £5 pm it seems a bargain. Is the broadband service any good? (i find sky's CS decent, certainley an improvement on BT!)

Cheers for any advice

FYI not interested in cheap landline calls as all calls made inside my mobile monthly allowance.

Four or more 'principal' operators provide broadband services at this exchange. Service in this area has been deregulated!

    I would say either:

    get sky broadband

    or

get a mobile on O2 and get unlimited dowloads for £7.50 (after discount for having an O2 phone)

Sky Everyday broadband is £10 a month , unless you take SkyTalk.

www.skyuser.co.uk is a good resource for all things Sky.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Happy to get sky talk - call costs are not an issue - can go months without making a landline call!

My orange contract does not run out till mid Sept and presuming i could find a comparable deal would only save £2.5 p/w over sky max (£10p/m with sky talk), but in the meantime would need to pay £20+ per month for next two months with BT, so for the next year i'd only save £10 on O2 and that if i find a good deal with them for my mobile!

Think i'm going to get sky - now mid £5 p/m but £30 install or max £10p/m but no install cost?
