How do I get Freeview/Sky on my Second TV?

Hello, I am not sure what to do. We just got another TV, with built in freeview, for the bedroom but the reception is very bad hence does not capture any pictures. We already have Sky Plus in our lounge, which is connected to the communal aerial in our block *plugged into the wall*. Now we've just got off the phone with Sky and have been told it would cost us 49 pounds for another box, 50 pounds for installation and 10 pounds every month. Our other option is to pay 60 pounds for installation and we get a free box plus 10 pounds per month. Now I know the latter is cheaper than the former amount, but is there any other way we could get the freeview to work or find a way to connect the box in the lounge to the one in the bedroom? I remember hearing about some kinda wireless video transmitter or sensor...I believe they work via laser beams enabling someone to watch digital tv in another room...how feasible is this transmitter and would it get the job done? Any advice would be appreciated...Thanks.

You say you get Sky via a communal aerial, but I presume you mean a communal dish? Is there a communal aerial too (what is the Freeview TV plugged into)? There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

It's a wireless video sender you want. That will get the signal for sky or freeview channels to the 2nd TV. You will probably also need an Infrared sender so you can change channels with an IR remote in the other room.0

How are you trying to receive Freeview on the new TV? Set top aerial or rooftop aerial? To get a decent digital signal you will probably need the latter. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Hello guys, thank you macman and dragon47 for ur adice. It is a communal areial, not sure if we have a dish on the building but the council not long came to install something and we were informed its because everywhere is going digital, eg. with a normal tv u can plug it into the wall via the communal areial socket and recieve freeview channels. Asked one of my mates and he suggested buying a cable which we would enable us to connect the tv in the bedroom directly to our sky plus box in the lounge. We did this but couldnt get a picture, but when we connected the cable into the aerial in the wall it worked, but we can only get freeview channels. At least it is working, even though its not sky channels, but atleast its more than 5. Il be content with that lol Thanks again for ur advice.0

Then you did it incorrectly. A long Scart lead would give the best picture and sound. S-Video lead would come a close second. Finally, an ordinary piece of coaxial cable will get a half-decent picture and mono audio, with the possibility of adding a "magic eye" for remote control.0
