in Water bills
decided to get on top of bills today and got meter readings for all my utilities.
called up thames water expecting them to be able to generate a bill over the phone so i can make an up to date payment, but no, i must now wait 10 days for a new bill based on my meter reading.
can it be that hard to work out how much i owe when i've gone to the trouble of giving them my meter reading myself?
i'm hoping in the future all this sort of stuff will be done online without any need for phoning customer services, sitting on hold, pressing 1 a hundred times, and having to repeatedly give account numbers and confirm several details every time!

Why not pay by Direct Debit?
Failing that, wait for a 6 monthly bill and pay? If it is an(incorrect) estimated meter reading they will produce a new bill based on your reading.0 -
because i want to keep on top of it and everything else i pay is monthly. i only want to pay what i've used, and want this to be a reminder every month so that i only use things sparingly.0

The offical Thames Water website does allow you to submit water meter readings online but you will not get a monthly bill - the cost is prohibitive.
Anyway you could do a rough calc of your water bill using the volume used multiplied by the cost per m3 for clean water and sewage.0
