T-Mobile change of Terms and conditions - can contract be cancelled?

As I said before, I cancelled my 3 contract recently by the method you're talking about. My other concern is, as I have only recently taken out this new contract, the retailer I got it from has a clause in THEIR T&Cs saying that if you cancel the contract within the first 120 days THEY will charge you £200. Sounds a bit unfair to me seeing as how T-Mobile have changed their T&Cs to my detriment. What do people think?
And also T-Mobile have already broken their own T&Cs by not giving me the full 30 days notice of the change.0 -

You wouldn't be able to call up your network and say 'Hello, from this date I am going to be paying X amount for Y type of call instead of what it is now' would you?0 -

I'm going on holiday in august and will need my mobile. Therefore it WILL have a detrimental effect on me.
T-Mobile can come up with all kinds of rubbish but the fact is that roaming is part of their CONTRACT and EU legislation states that should the terms of the contract be changed and we dont agree with these new terms, then we have the right to cancel.
Its simple and there should be an uprise against this because why should we as the consumer sit there and take this cr*p?!0 -

Yes, that is absolutely what I am saying.
The bottom line is that they have chosen to change their T&C knowing full well that this represents a detrimental change to their customers and that their customers are entitled to end their contract FOC because of this.
Whether the change is personally detrimental to any particular customer can only be determined by the customer themselves - as with the '3' change recently, the network cannot say that just because you haven't used a particular part of your contracted service before, that you won't be using it in future.
You may not like it. You may consider it as dishonest. I think you will find that most people here will consider it being the consumer exercising their legal rights.
Ever read the subtitle of the website? 'consumer revenge' means the little guys fighting back against exactly this kind of thing.0 -
Well, I've made some progress. Emailed the 3rd party retailer (buymobilephones), and got a call a couple of hours later from a very helpful woman who basically said that yes, because T-mob have changed T&Cs, we won't charge you the £200 if they're prepared to let you out the contract.
So, I called T-mob, and the woman I spoke to went away for quite a while then came back and basically said no, roaming rates do not form part of the terms and conditions, they're an additional service and that I couldn't cancel without penalty. I kinda expected this at the first stage, but can anyone advise on the next step?
She did say if I wanted to take it further then I should write in, which I'll do, but not really sure what to say from hereon in.
She first said there's no detriment, we're just making T&Cs clearer, to which I said well thats fine, but I'm talking about changes to roaming rates, which you also told me about in the message. To which she said its not part of the T&Cs or something. Don't really understand but I'm sure its not right.
Any thoughts on this?

Read section one of the T&C's, the part you need to look at is the bit which is their definitions, in this it clearly states that "additional services" for the purpose of the contract are "services".
They havent got a leg to stand on, but they are not about to let people walk so do as I did with the 0845 numbers and take them to the small claims court.0 -

Is there really no one else who wants out of their T-Mobile contract? When we had this with three there were loads of people!0

i do want out, they took away 50% of my loyalty discount and i don't use the minutes, i was not offered what i wanted adn i saply said yes grr sales people. help anyone got a draft letter?0
