There is something which is a beautiful thing. A lovely Audit Trail of your account cos someone had to have accessed it to identify you on the said date in question and therefore they have left an electronic trace. CHECK MATE, Bank Error and Refund pleaseamberowl28 wrote: »I originally rang them sorry. Love blackadder! Please do tell me of your cunning plan.

Thank you, guess i'll be chasing them up tom, it seemed daft that they'd have no record whatsoever. They did ask security questions etc to confirm my id.Halifax £744 and coming down

So that means you need to remember the date you called. Do you remember the exact date or the week you called? That would be even more helpful. Did you do any other transaction like a transfer on the same phone call?amberowl28 wrote: »Thank you, guess i'll be chasing them up tom, it seemed daft that they'd have no record whatsoever. And there was no other charges or interest owed up to 8th April 2009. Make sure you double check this cos everything(apart from legitimate interest) since that date you are asking for back because of their error.amberowl28 wrote: »Yes it was the 8th April, no other transactions.0 -

I would expect that this may take a little time as they have to audit trail the account but tonight we have the fact you called up and the exact date. We know you were identified over the phone so your account was accessed. And we know what you asked them to do was not done. I think success will be along soon. If not threaten them with the Financial Ombudsman Service(cos it will cost em £500)amberowl28 wrote: »No lost my job in March so was paying everything fine until then but i will double check statements. It sounds like a pure banking error, pure and simple
Also, mention the Council Tax arrears and rent arrears as they are priority debts. If you have proof of this, it will help your case.
Stick a letter in demanding what has occurred, how unhappy you are and demanding an immediate refund of all charges and fees that have been unfairly levied on your account.
The call may have been recorded as well, which could help you
Hope that helpsTotal Reclaimed from banks and credit cards so far: £14139 :T

They are taking the money on the 15th July. Are i allowed to withhold the payment is leiu of the court case, instead of them.
ie i write a letter saying i believe the charges are unjust and am withholding payment until a ruling has been made???0 -
