Has anyone moved house whilst doing the Royal Mail Survey. I am hoping to soon, it will be within the same town but I am wondering if I have to reapply to continue on the survey. Or do I give them my new details and hope that they keep me on?

I moved house and the survey transferred with me, I suppose it depends on whether there are any vacancies in the new area. I moved in 2006 :)
  • Has anyone ever noticed this in their queries? I don't get why there is a query of the postmark is the same date that I've said I posted it, surely that is how it should be?

Sender Item Number: 1016 Date of Posting entered: Wednesday 22 Sep 2010 Time of Posting entered: 13:15

    SMART indicated date:
    Postmark Date:Wednesday 22 Sep 2010 Last Collection Time:16:15

Its a long shot, but could be there should been a collection inbetween times so the smart should have been picked up at an earlier time, - to be honest thats all I think it can be, x

If you are in the same postcode area ie BN10 ... and you move to BN10 ... then you should be ok. If you move to BN11 ... then there may be a problem, that is if they are full up with people in that postcode.
Just email and ask them saying you would really love to carry on with the work and keep fingers crossed. Good luck :)

As long as you stay within the same area code BN, they'll keep you on the survey. Only when someone moves out of their wider area altogether will they have to check availability. :)

I've been saving mine towards christmas all year - will I have any trouble using them in the shops listed ??
I know my mum had one a few years ago and had a bit of trouble using it in Icelands

Yup the £10 is vouchers, not stamps.

I don't agree with you. If you are moving to a different area code eg from BN10 2XX to BN11 1YY as the 10 and 11 are different areas then you would not necessarily be kept on. You can only post in the first part of the post code in total not just the letters part of the code.

I suspect it is done on a case by case basis with no set procedure. This thread has messages from people removed when moving house as well as people who have been kept on. Without an analysis of all the circumstances of the individuals involved including the details of their move, which we don't know, I think the only thing we can say is that we can't say. Although there is an easy way to find out - ask Kantar in the guise of the ever helpful Joanne and the help line.
One thing did strike me though, The website says (somewhere or other) that you cannot remove/replace any postboxes and you can only register 10 in total. So if you were to move house and had 10 postboxes already registered, assuming you didn't move within the immediate neighbourhood, you're stymied anyway. 10 may seem a lot but I have 8 registered and active as they are on my various jogging routes, so if I moved out of range of them I'd only have 2 slots left.

(FWIW the posting area used to be the first part of the postcode including the numbers but now the advice in the popup window you get when you sign in says "Please only post survey items within your postcode area. For example, if you are receiving test items [...] at the postcode ST11 8XY, you must post all test items from within the ST postcode area")

Come on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.

Not true - it is the first part, alphabet only, which counts.

If it had to be BN10 (as in your example) and never BN11, then I have certainly been doing it wrong for a very long time and they have never queried where I am posting.

I stand corrected if that is the case now. When I joined it was the whole of the first part of the postcode that was used.
I am surprised though because if you are in a major city like Manchester and you can post anywhere in the M postcode I don't know how they get a controlled spread.

Same here, looking at my list of post boxes (and my home address) they are split between two DL postcode areas.
