hi can anyone help my mum has both gas and electric card meters but has now switched to paying quarterly the thing is when she had her last readings it has shown that she was putting in far too much and that between the two meters she is now owed nearly £3000 but brittish gas are saying she is not entitled to any of it back or even to be transferred over to her new set up, is there any way possible of getting this money back?

  • How have you identified that she has overpaid £3000, ?

Is it showing as a credit on the meter ?

Why did you put so much in? Just don't top up for a while and use some of the credit up?

The OP says their mother now pay quarterly, so presumably has had the meter changed to a credit meter ;)

Edit: although the OP says her mother still has card meters
