I'm only [STRIKE]refereeing[/STRIKE] stirring. It was news to me, but it makes you think. If something you believe (ie. it's a graph), can be argued against for several pages then how much are your other opinions worth? After the graph / chart debate I had to be signed off sick for a few days, and take some 'time out'.The idea of a 'winner' in an internet debate about whether something is a chart or a graph is a quant little concept.0 -
Whilst we're on the topic of fantasy buttons, I'd like a 'Generali' button. You hit it and it comes up with random intellectual quotes:
"If Mexico's GDP drops any further we could see repercussions in the pan-Asian markets."
"I think you'll find that it was the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947 that caused the great depression of India, rather than the oft-quoted Invasion of Goa in 1961."
"Toodle pip old bean."

I started out intending to read the whole of this thread but gave up once the slanging match started on page 2.
So I don't know what has been said after that and am not replying to anything in particular..
I just want to say.........
1. rising house prices are not a good thing
and
2. great post #3 by cleaver"The problem with quotes on the internet is that you never know whether they are genuine or not" -

Why not just two big buttons - a Chucky one and a Graham one. Then we can just bash them and watch some graphic showing the number of hits? First to a hundred wins and then the next round starts.0

Because August 2008 is my favourite ' blue / red classic BBC house price graph' month. I've got that particular month framed on my bedroom wall. Classic.0
