The Queen and the Royal Family cost the taxpayer 69p

The Queen and the Royal Family cost the taxpayer 69p per person last year - an increase of 3p - Buckingham Palace accounts show.
Full story here

What an amazing bargain for the hard work and dedication that the Queen and her family give to this country, with far too little appreciation.... and it costs less than 1/4 of a pint of beer per person per year or a pint of milk per person.......it really doesn't matter how you look at it.........they are a bargain.

MSE'ers should look at the cost that political ambassadors, would charge for doing a fraction of the job....and give a bit more support to the Monarchy and the heritage of this great country.
It's nice to be nice .....

The Royal Family and their extended family do so much for me and other members of the public...not.

There was a survey last year that asked tourists what attractions they visited and what attractions attracted them to the UK. You would be amazed how few went to see the palace or listed the Royal Family. The old story that they attract tourists is not actually very accurate and after all the number one destination for tourists is France and they have no Royal Family...

I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

they just want an easy life and get paid for it

what actuall hard work do they do - even some of their kids are scroungers - like prince andrew daughter living in a 4 bed apartment by herself which was renovated at £250,000.00

just get her a studio with an airbed that will do her

You could get a lot of stuff in Home Bargains for 69p.
The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water

So basically, despite her vast wealth, she's operating at a loss and being subsidised by us.

Others who can't operate within their budget and spend more than they earn (while living the high life), end up debt and bankruptcy with bailiffs at the door to repossess their homes.

But when the Queen does it we say 'well done!' and have a whip round for her???

For how much longer can this mass forelock-tugging continue?

I would happily pay more than 69p a year for the Queen & Royal Family.
