Now (thanks to Matrix999 and Cheeky!!) I am due a new 6111 any second now but my 6020 has videos and pictures of my children that I dont want to lose (especially the very young ones of baby savingsgirl!)
Does anyone please know where I shoud send it for repair - I thought Nokia directly?

You could try your local Carphone Warehouse branch , they should point you in the right direction!"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

If you can, take it to an ERC (express repair centre) branch of CPW (you'll find them on the website). Tell them that you want files off your phone, as when a repair is carried out they often do a software flash which will wipe it all. Other branches can send it away for you, but ERC's can have the engineer look at it there and then and tell you what will happen.0

try to use another battery. if that doesnt work, use this site to find a Nokia Repair Center: http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,33684,00.html
type in your postcode and find the closest nokia repair center. (untick all boxes except "Return & Repair Centres")0 -
they may not fix it under warrenty as they will suspect customer damage
this fault is usually a blown fuse on the pcb and not hard to fix (if you can find the fuse)0 -
yeh, rather try and see if it can be done under warantee first then open it up. need a solder-iron as well, (thin tip) which most people dont have.drahcir wrote:they may not fix it under warrenty as they will suspect customer damage

good idea still, can do this if the warantee fails!0
