my son tried to install just now and it can only be used on Win 2000 and XP- i still have ME is there a solution 2 the problem?

opted 4 winamp but when set up starts the install button isn't in bold so u can't install it.0

The Portable version is modified, you should just need to run winamp.exe and it'll load up (shouldn't get any install screens). Got it running here on my Shuffle."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -

hey i had the same problem i run ME go to https://www.download.com and search for mediamonkey - install this - works a treat, can drag and drop songs onto ipod using htis or synch it. really easy.0

god i thought it was me cos nowt ever goes right.installed winamp and found there was nowt in start menu so dragged it across.new hardware was found when we plugged the ipod in but it said that software was being installed!!!!!! wot software.message do not disconnect in the ipod screen and was abt 2 give up when i saw the post.actually it was a toss up between media monkey and winamp in the first place.
c how things go and i'll report back.0 -
if you download media monkey get back to me and i can walk you trhorugh how to get music on your ipod - will have to wait till i get home though :-)0

If you get the Portable version of Winamp I linked above. Just unzip it, then copy the unzipped directory onto your iPod. Do this by plugging in your iPod, then look in My Computer, it should show up as a removable drive. Paste the unzipped folder onto the iPod. Run winamp.exe from your iPod.
Once Winamp has loaded up. Press Alt-L for the Media Library. On the left hand column your iPod should show up under Devices (make sure it's attached).
Select it, then just drag 'n' drop your music there.
