I would only buy if the tickets are in hand and there was only a few weeks to go till the concert was on. I'm naturally cautious and I would be far too anxious to buy well in advance

I wouldnt bid for any without seeing the picture of ticket though

Hope you can tell the difference between someone who has taken a photo of a ticket, and someone who has nicked a photo of a ticket from someone else's listing :D

  • I've sold tickets before (won them in a comp, and though I really wanted to go, it was at the last minute and hundreds of miles away so I couldn't go), but haven't bought any. I would if feedback was good and I wanted to go really badly.

I've bought tickets off eBay and so far, experienced no problems.
Occasionally I search for gigs happening the same week and have managed to get tickets for less than a quarter of their face value.:j

But as I was desperate to go I paid over the odds for the tickets, and I was happy to do this :)

You are feeding the problem, in this case if you an many others didn't buy them from the ebay scalpers they would have had loads of tickets and nothing to do with them, meaning they made a loss.

Guess what next time you and many other fans would be able to buy them at the face value.

I can see tickets having names and address printed on and you need matching ID or better still a picture is required at time of booking and its printed on the tickets, if you can't make it you can get a refund and the tickets are resold at face value.

I've had mixed experiences in this. I had bought 2 tickets for Iron Maiden, then my sister decided she was getting married on that date.

Managed to sell them on ebay for a slight profit despite not having them in hand at the time. Once they arrived, they were posted special delivery and arrived safe and sound the following day.

On the flip side, I recently purchased some tickets for a present for my Wife, only for them never to turn up. Checking the feedback of the seller a few days later, she had receivedpositive feedback from someone else for the same tickets (unless she had 2 pairs to sell ....).

Opened a paypal dispute and got the money back a couple of weeks later.

In general, I would buy from there again if there was no other option, but would be half expecting to have problems !
