No problem.
A couple of years ago I got a couple of tickets to Meatloaf. Had a great time and had no problems with the purchase process.
I did make sure that the feedback on the seller was good and everything had the right 'feel' to it. The seller didn't have the actual tickets but they were posted out as soon as he had them and I had good communications throughout.
Of course there will be others with the opposite experience but you have to go with your feelings sometimes - if it doesn't feel right, run a mile!
It might be a good idea to leave the Michael Jackson tickets alone though;)0 -
To clarify - if it is not the arguement that "touts" buy up all tickets to sell at a profit, thereby denying genuine fans of a place, it is the arguement that it is the concert promotors who do not supply enough tickets in the first place.
Then there are pre-release tickets being sold that never arrive, and when the date of the gig nears, the buyer realises that the seller is no longer registered, and it's way past the paypal claim date - if they even paid by paypal.
Far too much bad noise around the whole subject - expect sweeping changes from ebay in the near future, especially since the MJ fiasco is likely to cost them a few hundred thousand in unrecoverable refunds.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
As mentioned I would not buy on ebay unless they had the ticket and its less than face value.
We really should make a stand, dare I say in some cases 50% of tickets go to touts for ebay.
As a population why don't we just say no to this, if we all insisted on box office or not going then the touts would end up with piles of tickets and lost money, don't get me wrong we may miss a few events but if the touts keep making a loss they will stop it, which will then lead to a true first come first served at the box office.
Basically as a population with have the power to stop people this happening and leave the touts out of pocket, all we have to do is stop buying into the whole scam.
Ebay could force ticket sales to be face value at the most, would really help the problem.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

After a bad experience in the past (our 4th row tickets became "unavailable" at last minute, and we were offered tickets at the back, which we declined, but then couldn't get a refund for...), I would only buy a ticket if it was at face value, and less than 3 weeks before the concert date, thus giving plenty of time should a dispute be required.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

There lies the problem though - whilst there is a demanding market, the touts will continue to feed off it.
I do honestly see an outright ban on ticket sales - just as they did with knives. There is too much bad publicity around the whole category.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

 That's not a risk I would take since you can usually get decent tickets nearer to a date when they're in hand. Once those 45 days are up with paypal, you have no recompense but glad you were lucky. I have bought tickets, once, a couple of months back for the Specials. I was lucky and got a second chance offer for face value as she needed to get rid and they were going for silly prices. I made sure I bought from a fan, bought a week before the gig and spoke to her by phone before going ahead with the BIN, she was a angel to deal with and had genuine reasons for selling. Personally, I'd only buy tickets on ebay this way and with these checks.0 -
Im happy to buy tickets off ebay, simply because sometimes you just cant get tickets you want.
For example I bought Muse tickets for Eden project a few years ago off Ebay. Why? Because they went on sale to Eden members first and there were so few left they sold out in minutes. There was no way I was going to get my hands on those tickets.
But as I was desperate to go I paid over the odds for the tickets, and I was happy to do this
