I agree with that, its amazing how distracting an office full of people can be.. if you have no-one to talk to, you can complete tasks much quicker.. well so long as i'm not distracted by MSE that is...!! :rotfl:

What a busy few days I have, unfortunately not that MSE due to DD's birthday and party.. but that's done now, so onwards and upwards.......
Have a weekend in London planned for my birthday with mainly MSE stylee.. hotel booked with accummulated Your points from a cc.. that won't get any more points as I DON'T USE THEM ANYMORE.... so have spent them on a nite in a hotel, plus cashed in tesco vouchers for meal and have paid for theatre tickets but from money saved from not drinking:D So shouldn't cost too much, i'm sure my mate will buy me a drink or 2.....
Gave up on grocery challenge last week, as appeared to have a hole in purse that had a direct link to all major supermarkets... but DD had fantastic time, and for the first year ever I didn't use the CC for any of it... brill....
Have spent £1-55 of weeks budget so far (£60) , i'm really watching every penny...Have sorted meal plan for this week and started work on next week's. am hoping to come under budget again.
I have today transferred £55-40 from Ebay sales to bank and then onto Nasty Natwest Mastercard... going down..... :jHave snowball ready to put in new figures in august.. doubt i'll get anywhere near the % I need to get to 10% by christmas but I'm enjoying my challenge of counting the pee.....as long as the overall total goes down i'll be a smiley rabbit...! Will also have £1 a day.. ish... to throw at it at the end of the month.
So jobs this week as always... -
1. sort out more ebay stuff and get it listed
2. do some work project... yawn....
3. finish meal plan for friday shop
4. Pay phone bill... now where can I find £70???? get thinking...
5. complete at least 1 overtime visit... not done well on this front this month but will do better for August, every little helps.....
Right off now to find some money........AFD - J 19 J 11 A 2 S 10 Oct 6 N 0/?

Dear Diary... I feel like Bridget Jones now....
I'm not doing so well with the overtime/project for work front.. still have a week left until the end of the month, so won't give up just yet.....
Very MSE last night, had leftover sausages from DD bbq (uncooked..) on use by date, chucked them in a casserole with veg that was hanging around, fed me and OH and portion for freezer, marvellous.... Not bad on the 'popping' to the shops for that bottle of milk that costs £20.. have spent £6-45 of this week's budget so that leaves £53-55 for the shop tomorrow.... although in my defence I did buy some reduced lamb chops so that was £2-92 of the spends.. and they will go on the food plan for next week that is almost complete, will finish the shopping list later for tomorrow.. all very MSE..
£1 a day pot has now caught up with number of days in the month courtesy of OH leaving his coins lying around uncared for.... :rotfl:
Haven't found that £70 for the phone bill yet... ummmm more thinking needed....
Have purchased 3 pairs of shoes for DD in the sale, she's living in flip flops and boots at the moment poor child and I don't think the boots will be that practical for our summer holiday..! Was going to pay by CC... then quickly put it away again... I know I should leave it at home but need it for proof of booking on Saturday and will forget it if I remove it now... Naughty card, stay down.....
That's about it for today....AFD - J 19 J 11 A 2 S 10 Oct 6 N 0/?

Glad to see you remain chirpy!
Sounds like you're well motivated - these little changes will all add up and help you reach your DFW goals. Fair enough re. shoes - you're right in thinking that boots don't really work for a summer holiday0 -
Shopping came in under budget :T I had £53.55 left for the week and spent £48-81... so £4-74 for my little grocery saving pot... although I am a little concerned that out of the £48-81, £11-64 was on the cats...!! My poor family, I must be starving them... oh well, plenty of cat food and litter to eat if they are desperate..:rotfl:
Nothing else new to report, have done lots of competitions, haven't won any more mind.. but there's always tomorrow...!
Off for my trip to London in the morning, so that will be a nice break away from MSE land...!!!! I'm going to start having to be strict with myself and ban myself from logging onto MSE until say 6pm each day... ha ha.. can see that working but might be a necessity as I'm not getting on with the other things I need to do....

:jHad my lovely trip to London, despite BR's best attempts to muck it up by closing the victoria line...! Only spent £17 as bestest mate paid for everything that I hadn't pre-voucher/points paid for... brill.... stayed in lovely hotel, only down side was looking out at the homeless people making camp for themselves on the car park roof.. room with a view.. and the room was upgraded and would have cost £340 a night.... did feel sad by those outside, upset me quite a lot actually, me in my lovely room and all they had was cardboard and a sleeping bag.....
Onwards and upwards.... spent 99p so far of this week's budget . well it only starts today...! :rotfl:
Found £10 in the washing machine.. its mine, all mine.. well it must be, i'm the only one who uses it.....:rotfl:
Got a £3 LV through from a survey last week so that will pay for DD's lunch on our day out on Wednesday....also received new quote for boiler/heating cover from BG.. £260 .. i don't think so, I don't know how they can expect to keep customers when they charge existing customers so much more, I do want to have boiler annually serviced but they never touch anything else so have spoken to them and downgraded to a £150 package that seem's fairly comparable to others on uswitch.. so that's £100 less a year.. hurrah...!
Soon be payday, bills are coming in.. I shall update the sig when i've sorted everyone out....
Holiday in 3 weeks time......already got spending money saved and hopefully OH will throw us some pennies too.....
On the food front we've had bbq leftovers last night.. not old cooked one's i'm not that daft.. chicken kebabs that hadn't left the fridge and have been residing in the freezer and tonight I have defrosted the chicken legs that also didn't make it out of the fridge and have deboned.. with the cats help.. and will turn into a paella later with some prawns that have been living a frosty life for about a month..... my 99p spend was some salad leaves to go with it..! tomorrow's also bbq food... burger and chips.... and then its only sausages to go.... think they can wait until next week.. I keep trying to clear out my freezer and then all these odds and sods jump in when i'm not looking....:rotfl:
So happy Monday to one and all.... off to do some competitions now....fingers crossed.... although I do find it hard to type like that....!AFD - J 19 J 11 A 2 S 10 Oct 6 N 0/?

First off its my.....:bdaycake:and i'm only slightly older than last year... I feel quite positive about the year ahead and hope to make some dents into those debts at long last..
On the MSE front i've been to Town with DD and got new school uniform and Guide clothes for camp, still got more to get but we've made a start.. I'm now £50 poorer.. but I borrowed it from my childcare stash, so no CC usage, and am hoping to repay it when I open all my cash filled cards later.. how sad is that......
Going back a post, the amazing find of a tenner didn't last long, DD claimed it as gift she'd been given at mil's, oh well, it was nice whilst it lasted....;)
Have cashed in £1 pot for month and paid another £25 off Nasty Natwest Mastercard. :T Nothing else exciting to report, month end, payday tomorrow.. holiday getting nearer.. all old clothes for me, might treat myself to some new underwear as mine is shameful... but other than that...
Sold an item on ebay, which I had forgotten was listed.. only 99p.. but hey ho..
Have spent £2-81 of this week's budget, and am hoping that will be it until friday now as I need a few extra bits for entertaining friday nite.
Plans for rest of week -
1. do some project work
2. put some more items on ebay.
3. sort meal plan for next week - do food list for friday.
That's about it folks. :T

Nothing very exciting to report... did week's grocery shopping and if I deduct the amount spent on tonight's entertaining, which I've paid for with my birthday cash, as its celebrating my DD's, mine and my mate's b.days then I spent £52.86 + £2.81 during the week and £1 yesterday in the Pound shop.. strangly enough.. on kitchen towels, I think that means I came in £3-33 under budget...:T
Will probably have to shop for some proper food soon, as freezer is now looking rather empty....
Have put bills in snowball that have arrived so far and its up in the green, which is a first...! :jhopefully will stay that way now and I can get rid of some of those nasty months until DFD..
Got a laugh from my Halifax who kindly sent me a letter to say they are lowering my limit.. by .... £50....:rotfl:oh yeah that will make all the difference.....
Did actually do some project work, aiming at August being a big month for that, and overtime... watch this space.....
Now looking forward to a nice evening in the garden.. if it stays sunny with a little drink or 2 and some yummy food... and its the weekend... hurrah.....AFD - J 19 J 11 A 2 S 10 Oct 6 N 0/?

Forgot to add, as its end of month, I've calculated out my grocery spends for the last 5 weeks, and have had to put an average down for week 3 as it did contain lots of party food so not really normal grocery budget.. so the final total comes in at...
July Grocery Challenge - £282-47 - 5 wks av. £56.49p.wk
Which is a HUGE improvement as the previous 7 weeks it was an average of £102 per week:T....!!!AFD - J 19 J 11 A 2 S 10 Oct 6 N 0/?
