3 months wait for an extra sky box!

We have a sky HB box in the living room.
A sky+ box in the main bedroom & a sky box in our DDs bedroom.

We bough DD a new LCD TV for her birthday & agreed to upgrade her box to a sky+ box.

When I called them it was the same money to get a HD box for the main room & put the + box in her room as to get another + box, so we decided to do that.

We had to join the waiting list.
They texted me the following day to say about 3 months:eek:

Bet new customers don't wait long:rolleyes:

That is a long wait - too long. I know that they've said they've got supply problems due to the popularity of the service but that's not your problem. I've heard that new customers are experiencing delays too - but no idea of how long.
Just a question though, and this may save you money.. With a total of 3 Sky boxes in the house, is there a real need to get another? Could you not just use a magic eye and cable to one of the existing boxes (preferably not the main living room one). This would mean that you wouldn't have to pay an additional multi-room subscription. Of course the TV connected via magic eye would have to watch the same channel as the additional box, but would that be such a problem given you've 3 in the house?
    Just a suggestion?

DH wants HD for the bedroom (to watch sports on) DD wants her own + box to tape all sorts on.

OK - if needs must. Just thought there may be a cheaper way to get Sky sent around the house.
