First choice holiday villages

we booked the first choice holiday village in egypt for next feb, all reviews are really good but some reviews for the other holiday villages are scary0

we stayed at the cyprus holiday village in April and it was great. The splash park attracted all the tiny kids, so the big pool was more peaceful for older kids and adults. Great programme of daily activities - my 11 yr old got addicted to the high ropes course and the 40m jump! We were in the newly built part of the complex and the rooms were lovely, with high standard of cleaning. The buffet was fine - you could always put together a nice meal and there were friendly staff clearing tables all the time. It's out on the edge of paphos but served by loads of buses and taxis, so only 10 mins to get into the centre of town. I'd certainly be happy to try another one next year.0

Read plenty of reviews before you decide. (trip advisor, holiday watchdog sites etc..)
We were looking for next year at the one in benalmedena (sp?) and the majority of the reviews were shocking so we didn't book.
We booked our holiday spear of the moment and then looked at tripadvisor etc they had really bad reviews and I wanted to cancel, I felt sick to the stomach worrying but you know what it was the best holiday we have ever had!
Just goes to show you have to see for your self and also it was a new season so they may have altered they way they did things:heart2: 'Tied the Knot' Saturday 9th October 2010 :heart2::blushing: Member of Diet Club October 2010 Brides and Grooms :blushing:Starting Weight: 14 stone 10.8lbsCurrent Weight: 13 stone 2lbsTotal loss: 21.8lbs :j0 -
we where at the costa del sol/benalmadina one. its ok, there snacks outside near the pools, the food gets really samey and its out the way of everything.
Theres a shop in it but its v. expensive, youd be better getting a bus to the harbour and theres a nice wee supermarket there.
Also when we where there there where people roaming around selling a timeshary kinda thing.......
& the pools where absolutley freezing!!!!!!!!!!0 -

There are new holiday Villages opening in 2010 (3 altogether if I remember right)
Dominican repuplic and mexico are not opening 2010 (some dispute with not following uk regulations or something)kevandkeira wrote: »I have been looking at jungle aqua park hotel, in egypt. This also looks impressive & for october 15th (2weeks) is coming in at £3828.50.
We are looking for somewhere where all inclusive means all inclusive, so that minimal spending money is required. This is the reason we looked at holidays were everything is onsite, so if the waterpark is onsite they could go there everyday & its already been paid for in the holiday cost.
We've just come back from Holiday Village Red Sea (want to go back NOW!!! *stamps feet lol* )
We're looking at the Adua for our Honeymoon Oct 2010The costa del sol one is the benalmedena one. The reviews I read were that the hotel wasn't solely a First Choice hotel at all ~ the food wasn't upto much ~ it's not a proper all inclusive as there are no snacks inbetween breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not too clean either.
Oh and the major one for me was that it was quite a way away from anywhere so if you did want to get out for a day or 2, you would need a car or taxi.
All Holiday Village are not soley First Choice, First Choice are now part of the TUI group which means they have TUI also using the hotels and TUI are an international company but does this matter???
All I have to say about Holiday Villages (well the Egypt one cos that's all we have been to) is they are absolutley fanbloodytastic!!!
We have never used kids clubs before because my girls never wanted to go (I used to be kids rep and went on a bit too much about how much fun they'd had I think they switched off lol)
They met friends and then decided on the 2nd week they'd like to go
The clubs were run 10:00-12, 2:30-4, 4:30-6 and 9pm-11pm (this was for 3-5yrs and 6-8yrs
It was 47oc most days but felt like the Med cos of a sea breeze plus being busy u don't notice the heat
There's a full program of activities for the day time aswel as aditional bookable activities. All activities are free except Chocolate party and sweety bingo which are £5 per child
The Egypt one has 2 water slides
All I can say it was great! If you want any more info just PM me cos I could go on all day about it:heart2: 'Tied the Knot' Saturday 9th October 2010 :heart2::blushing: Member of Diet Club October 2010 Brides and Grooms :blushing:Starting Weight: 14 stone 10.8lbsCurrent Weight: 13 stone 2lbsTotal loss: 21.8lbs :j0 -

we've just come back from our 3rd visit to the Red sea Holiday village !!!
Couldn't agree more - its absolutely brilliant.
The only thing stopping us returning next year is that we really do need to try somewhere else.
Been looking at the HV in rhodes today, but its coming out way over budget.0 -

:rotfl:so have we
It's new for this year
I did speak to a few of the reps in Egypt and they said the Turkey one is the best one they have worked in
We just don't fancy Turkey
I'm torn between Rhodes and Cyprus now. Decisions, decisions it'll be our Honeymoon so it better be good where ever we go:heart2: 'Tied the Knot' Saturday 9th October 2010 :heart2::blushing: Member of Diet Club October 2010 Brides and Grooms :blushing:Starting Weight: 14 stone 10.8lbsCurrent Weight: 13 stone 2lbsTotal loss: 21.8lbs :j0 -
Been looking at http://images.moneysavingexpert.com/images/forum_images/editor/smilie.gifthe HV in rhodes today, but its coming out way over budget.
I emailed first choice about the rhodes holiday village asking why there is only an artists sketch, did this mean it was still being built & when is the estimated completion date. This is the email I recieved back:
Further to your enquiry; the Holiday Village in Rhodes is a new
accommodation. It is scheduled to be completed before our Summer 2010
holidays in May 2010.0 -
We went to the holiday Village Viva in Majorca in 2008, have just come back from Sun Tropical in Lanzarote (although the accomodation is changing in 2010) and booked to go to Eygpt - Red Sea in 2010.
They are expensive but you don't need to spend a penny once your there. We were tempted to book the Rhodes one this year but will wait till next year to see what the reviews are like. We were a little worried about it being so new.
When we booked ours the rep told us that that Cypurs and Costa Del Sol ones were not as good as based on property already built so were limited to what was already there.0
