First choice holiday villages

I was wondering if anyone has stayed at one of these & what you thought of it, we were looking at booking for summer 2010 but have been told it will be packed.
We really like the look of the holiday villages but we cant decide which one, they all look fab.

We went to the one in Lanzarote and it was great. Both kids (14 & 7) loved it - there was loads to do and First Choice are one of the few holiday companies that do a 'kids' club for teenagers. They took them kayaking in the dark, down to the beach for a bbq and loads of other stuff.

We also found that because it was a First Choice Holiday Village there was always a rep on site so if you had any problems/questions then you could get them sorted straight away.

Highly recommended (and we're looking to book to go to the one in Turkey).

Nikkisun - What time of year was it that you went? Did you find it any more busier than any other holiday? Thanks

Read plenty of reviews before you decide. (trip advisor, holiday watchdog sites etc..)

We were looking for next year at the one in benalmedena (sp?) and the majority of the reviews were shocking so we didn't book.

I have looked through hundreds of reviews, lol. I think costa del sol is coming out top. There is a new one in Rhodes, which at present has no reviews.

    Just my view!

I think these holiday Villages are very over rated, looking at the cost for that holiday posted by the OP

First choice will never be beaten on price with these hotels, they are so difficult for other agents to bring the price down.

I personally think there are better holidays out there lower in price too. I know why they attract people attention because of the facilities they have but im sure you will get something better

I think the price that kevandkeira had was about 2800 for a week, steep I say!!!

Hi, is there anywhere that you can suggest, our last holiday was a villa in cyprus. Our children said it was boring & to hot (cyprus in august), which was the main reason we are now looking at the holiday villages, as their will be plenty there for them to do.

Anywhere in the Med in August is going to be hot although Cyprus is always mega hot...

I just think that you might want to look at the likes of Majorca/Menorca at hotels with excellent facilities for the kids and kids clubs. Maybe near to a waterpark just to match what the holiday villages would offer but of course at a lower cost

I have been looking at jungle aqua park hotel, in egypt. This also looks impressive & for october 15th (2weeks) is coming in at £3828.50.
We are looking for somewhere where all inclusive means all inclusive, so that minimal spending money is required. This is the reason we looked at holidays were everything is onsite, so if the waterpark is onsite they could go there everyday & its already been paid for in the holiday cost.

I say hang on for a bit, everyone seems to be rushing into 2010 holidays thinking that the free child place means the best priced holiday.

3828.50 to me seems a lot of money for sharm on that date.

The thing is all the flight only prices with thomson/thomas cook/monarch etc etc are not released neither is the accomodation only. This means there isnt alot of choice to look at for you...

If these were out im sure I could find you a much better cost at a lovely hotel

    hang fire!!!

    Cheers Del

The costa del sol one is the benalmedena one. The reviews I read were that the hotel wasn't solely a First Choice hotel at all ~ the food wasn't upto much ~ it's not a proper all inclusive as there are no snacks inbetween breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not too clean either.

Oh and the major one for me was that it was quite a way away from anywhere so if you did want to get out for a day or 2, you would need a car or taxi.
