The only way I got anything done with EasyJet was by writing three times to the CEO. It took some doing but I did eventually get it sorted out. You're absolutely right, if it's not completely straight forward they just can't do it!0

I'm amazed how happy a lot of you sound with the idea of getting your airport tax back!
Just tried to cancel and get a refund for a flight in May I can't make, and even according to Trading Standards, I can't get anything because I bought online.
To my mind - I paid for something and didn't use it. Therefore, I ought to be refunded.
They get to put someone else in the seat I've left free AND keep my money.0 -

This is nothing to do with buying on-line, but is a condition of the fare. I am sure that you had the option of paying a lot more for a fully-flexible ticket. The rules are similar for bus and train tickets. Whether or not this behaviour is "fair", it is legal and is the way in which most public transport works, so I suggest you get used to it.0 -
when you book a flight online you need to tick a box saying that you have read the terms and conditions, I assume you did not read these but still ticked the box, is that correct? everything is there regarding cancelling0
