I am very  and :o

My back garden is only small but is accessed via some steps which I find a bit precarious (I fell down them one year and nearly broke my arm and I ripped my knee apart) and last year I didn't use it at all with the awful weather and the thought of how overgrown it would be has kept me from it this year. OH has mown the lawn once this year.

I use a concertina drier at the top of the driveway for clothes but it is always blowing over and just blew over and is now well and truly broken which has meant me taking the washing up to the top of the garden to the line, something I've been putting off, well, for over a year now.

    It is so overgrown.........:eek::o:eek::o:eek:

There is a huge bramble bush across the back which is snaking across the lawn and has partly attached itself to the washing line.

There is a pampas grass which is unwieldly huge and another 2 or 3 smaller ones (1 of which is partly blocking the steps). The rhodedendron bush on the other side of the steps is creeping across them again and my mum cut it right back when her and my dad stayed here when we were away.

Half is grass, the other half is stones and it is just covered with long grass growing through the holes in the lining under the stones :o

There are 3 kind of long thin 'terraces' which run between the top of the garden and the house and they were originally just lining covered with stone. They are overgrown with long grasses, pampas grass a couple of buddhliea and god knows what else.

There's a pile of broken wood we were going to burn 2 summers ago, a very sad lopsided bbq and a forlorn looking patio heater.

I reckon it is at least a weekends work for 3 people just to clear and cut is all back and it's definitely beyond my capability :o:o:o

Pity I don't have friends close by for a garden clearing party, lots of booze, cake and food provided by me in return for them clearing it over a couple of days!

Because the storm drains are poor, the garden is only useable after a really prolonged dry period. The water runs from the road higher than me, then through the half of my garden with stones on, then under the 'terrace' levels and then under and down my driveway and then down the hill.

It is like a bog until it is dry for a good couple of weeks and it's probably the reason one half has the lining and pebbles but it is made worse because it ends up with water sitting on top of the lining as well as being soaked underneath and never drying.

Posh people call those wildlife gardens BB.

I remember my dad being delighted when a landscape gardener bought the house next door to him, he had visions of looking out of his front window every day to perfectly manicured lawns and beautiful flowers.

It turned out the guy was into nature and left the garden to grow to encourage the wildlife:rotfl: In other words, it's like a builder whose house is never quite finished.

My gardening skills run to a bottle of weed killer, a strimmer to cut a pathway through the wilderness to administer the weed killer and a roll of fake grass :)

Stuff the wildlife, concrete and a hacksaw are my friends :rotfl:

sounds like a project for the boyf BB.... you can tell him you need his help and see how he reacts...

on the subject of blokes, Beanie was less than impressed with Big G over the weekend... he is a moody !!!!er and didn't endear himself to her... i half expected her to say, oh he's okay y'know, you're over reacting... but her opinion of him was pretty much based on the way he acted, spoke, and by his manner....

action will be taken but it's a matter of when, i've decided i deserve better and if i end up single for a good while then it's not the end of the world... in fact it could be a great thing!

My running shoes are still in the suitcase :o

I think I'll constantly need summink to work towards. If we're all doing the 10k in November then that'll be good ;)
