Right here’s my rant over DD1 and painting her bedroom:
Got home from work last night to find DD1 (19) and her best friend starting to paint her bedroom, they’d been to f”cus and bought the paint etc. We have told her we won’t help in the slightest as the madam keeps smoking up there !!!!!!!!! We won’t pay for anything either.
So she persuaded DH as he’s a soft touch to take blind and fixings down for her and to take shelves off the walls and he helped them fill them (told you he was a soft touch!!) – I just sat outside with a lager!!! – Very helpful! :rotfl::rotfl:
Anyway they are absolutely carp at painting – BF turned up to help – he’s useless as well – but it’s her bedroom and she will be the one who has to put up with it. Anyway the girls had drunk a bottle of wine – not good when trying to cut in with paint brush.
They ended up having a paint fight!!! – All over themselves and my DD1 (read that as dratted dreadful 1!!) had my one and only white bra on – why on earth I don’t know as I’m a B and she’s a D! And has got paint all over the straps.:eek:Will it come off will it F£CK! Cos by the time I’d found out it had dried. So now steeped in thin bleach – but no it won’t do no good.
And when I went into bathroom for shower they had also walked paint splodges on floor – but I didn’t have time to clean it before work – so have that to do when I get home.
AND the landing is a death trap as there’s clothes off her floor there, chest of drawers her tv and good knows what else and I’m not moving it, she could of put most of it into the small bedroom – but that would have been to much like hard work
CAN ANYONE TELL YET THAT I’M NOT A HAPPY BUNNY?!!:mad::mad:To love and be loved is the greatest happiness of existance - Sydney Smith0 -

(((((hgs))))) carlsberggal
In my HHC I put washing on line, washing in the machine, hoovered through downstairs, S+S'd the kitchen and hoovere out the car and got a bag of rubbish from there xx0 -
Hugs Carsberggal - is it emulsion or gloss? xx
I managed to get emulsion all over my tracksuit once and it came out in the machine - even though it was dried in.
ETA - Ive just had a quick scout on the internet and some people have suggested good old White Vinegar, or nail polish remover - then launder as normal.....I dont know, but it may be worth a go?

Sorry about my rant earlier - just needed to let off steam.
Thanks Jo - probably ruined now as scrubbed with washing powder first, but didn't come off and now in thin bleach, which will not be good for the nylon - ho hum!!
Thanks to choosey and soappie too
Oooh, question for soappie - where have all my chaffinches gone? Had loads and loads at the feeder everyday and now theres only a couple left. Do they move on after fledging have left the nest? Though still watching the kestrel on the hill behind us hovering and swooping - very therapeutic. And the owls have returned, hear them every duskTo love and be loved is the greatest happiness of existance - Sydney Smith0 -

The kestrel or another predator may have got them but I think it's about 3 weeks after they've fledged that they then go off and fend for themselves. They're only really territorial in spring when they contemplate finding a mate and nest building etc.
How lovely to hear owls. I've never heard one here.
It's now too hot and sticky for me to do anymore so I'm going to take to the garden in the shade of the umbrella and try and make the most of the breeze that's out there.
Oh, and in this sort of weather, I'm always checking this site
http://www.isleofwightweather.co.uk/live_storm_data.htm
You need to have java enabled on your PC (free download at sun.com) I find it fascinating. It shows you where all the lightning strikes are in the last hour. Really good for watching storms arrive. But then I'm a bit peculiar like that....

Too much to catch up on ... I had a fairly early night last night as my dad was here, and have had a busy morning so far...
My brother came over to see my dad (and give him a copy of the seating plan for the wedding so that he and my mum could approve where the relatives are sitting!), so my old kitchen table and a shelf from the garage have gone home with my dad, and I've had to clear out the garage as my dad decided that he and my brother would put the dresser from the kitchen into the garage. My dad is bringing down a small shelf next week (on his way to the wedding) to put up (while I'm out all day!), and then I'll just need to get a small sideboard or narrow table to put in the gap underneath.
As a result, I've been cleaning the garage out like Jo. I've got vast amounts of paint etc to go to the tip, plus lots of bits of wood. The garage is looking pretty good with not much in it! (I did wonder Jo, how much wine you need to cool... it's a big fridge! Is this for your BBQ, or do you generally need that much wine chilled)
My brother has taken a couple of large plastic plant pots to use as ashtrays at the wedding, and I think I'm going to freecycle as much of the stuff from the garage as I possibly can (all kitchen-type stuff will be offered to the school first).
Before I forget though, huge hugs for fedup, FFP and vanilla, who seem to be in need of them at the moment. Well done sexymouse for yesterday, and lots of vibes for LL tomorrow. Carlsbergal... not sure what to say! Calming vibes are certainly needed... and hopefully there will be a bit apology from your DD sometime soon! Rose - well done on the steps & weight loss. Think of your trip to the village as part of your more steps challenge rather than an ordeal to get through. Clearing out the garage has given me a couple of thousand that I wasn't expecting this morning!
Right, I need to update my list and then get back to doing the outside stuff while the weather is holding. I'll catch you all later...0
