Forgot to add, we had a lovely time in Scotland although we were there for a sad reason. A friend of OH's had died in a motorbike accident a few years ago so we went for a ride out to the spot and laid some flowers as it was the anniversary of his death.

Outstanding scenery, we went past Aviemore, stunning. I love Scotland.

When we got back it seems we had aquired another hamster! Well DD2 has.

DD1 is at the seaside with her friend for a few days, good for her to have a break after the exams.

This month I need to get carpet for the stairs and landing *I'll do this if it kills me, really bugging me now* and a bed for DD2 as her's is broken.

More urgently I also need to get DD2 some school skirts and some sandals before the poor thing boils herself at school.

Wish the school didn't have navy blue skirts uniform policy, I aways struggle finding them.

Had a disastrous attempt at dyeing some grey skirts last night with dylon, result, grey undyed skirts that are slightly darker than when I started.

i know this may sound a silly question but i'm useless at cleaning, what items do i need in my cleaning cupboard? the whole house is carpeted by the way including kit and bath

    I have:

    cotton cleaning cloths (they're washable)
    microfibre cloths
mop & bucket (but you won't need those!)
    washing up liquid
vinegar (for cleaning & instead of fabric softener)
floor soap (you won't need that either)
    borax (for laundry)
    soap nuts (for laundry)
    soap powder for hot washes
    soda crystals
    bicarb
    feather duster
radiator brush to stop spiders living in the radiators
    aluminium scourers for washing up
    loo cleaner
    method shower spray

I think that's it... it's more than I thought :o so I really need to try to cut down!

ETA - thanks soappie - I'll get the washing in before I go out!

I know I am being petty really but I asked him to remove a huge spider from our room last night as I am scared and he wouldn't so I couldn't sleep and I am now even more annoyed with him because I am tired!

Hun you have a right to be annoyed IMHO, I don't usually get involved in other people's domestics but to remove a spider for somebody who is scared of them is not a big deal  I'm fine with spiders but due to my reaction to bites have been known to wake OH in the middle of the night on holiday if I've heard a mozzy in the room and get him to kill it so it doesn't bite me.

Is there nowhere on line? M&S do Navy, what about JL or is it a particular style she likes? Supermarkets - ASDA, Tesco I'm sure both of ours do navy I can check if you like. Glad you had a nice time despite the reason for your trip.

Off to help in DS3 school for the afternoon, not really in the mood, it is too hot to walk up there but I said I would.

    See you all later

Oh good, do you think it will get to Guildford? We so need some rain and it's far too hot here!

I've been to the chemist on the other side of Guildford as that's the nearest one that had the hayfever gadget DH wanted. Really hope it helps and he stops being a forgetful uncommunicative grumpy miserable person. Oh, hang on, he was like that before he had hayfever.

Just seen on the news that a train has crashed and derailed in a town in Italy we went to on our honeymoon. We spent a day there. Sad. The station there was lovely, hope it's not burned down. It looks bad, hope everyone's ok.

    Take it easy Tia

    Hugs Bevan

Hugs Kdean, I know how you feel, my DH has managed to annoy me every night for the last two weeks. I feel sorry for you.

Hugs Triker, glad you had a nice time, even tho for a sad reason. I love it all round there, Aviemore etc. Did you get to Pitlochrie? I’ve got a friend who lives at Dalwhinne, right next to the distillery!

I'm going to have a sleep. I'm incredibly grumpy, I think it's the heat and lack of sleep. DH refuses to come to bed when I do, plays a game online for hours, and no matter how late I stay up he stays up later. So eventually I give up and go to bed, fall asleep only to be woken by him crashing about getting ready for bed. And then I lie there for hours seething, while he is fast asleep oblivious. I feel I may end up killing him soon, I’m so sleep deprived. Hurray for afternoon naps

Sorry for ranting, it's been building up!
