sky+ 2nd box keeps freezing on standby

hi
have had new sky + since last dec with no probs , then started freezing during progs had re con box installed 1 mth ago makes whirring noise all the time they say its the fan also has a high pitch noise constantly [ l do have v sensitive hearing] but my old box had none of these noises

for the last 2 days if l turn off tv at the tv [ not mains ] when l put it back on the damn box wont come on , on one occasion l turned off tv after mistakenly leaving sky prog l was watching on live pause :o yup froze again

done loads of techie stuff yesteday with sky tec help + got it back on again, she said if happens again ring tec for service visit
have just done that and was told earliest appt is THURS !!!
had a whinge and got one for tue pm

how do l stand do l insist on new box /refund of subs im not techie minded but lm off sick can ill afford sky but it keeps me sane , just dont want to b fobbed off
any advice pse u guys ?

    JUST TO UP DATE ; not one to give up easily, just tried sky again and OMG its on and there,s suggs + maddness at glastonbury on the screen in glorious colour THANK YOU GOD !

    If your box is less than 12 months old you'll be entitled to a service visit and if necessary replacement of any faulty equipment. The fault you describe could be box related or it could be due to a faulty LNB (on the dish). Either way an engineer visit should be arranged at no cost to you.
