BT Broadband + credit card

Hi there,

Has anybody taken advantage of the deal BT seem to be offering at the moment:

Get £40 off your BT bill**
Take out a BT Credit Card after you order broadband and get £40 off your BT bill with your first card purchase.
16.5% APR typical rate (variable)

see: productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayCategory.do?categoryId=CON-TOTAL-BB-R1&s_intcid=con_intban_overview_BB_home
(sorry can't post linke yet)

The terms and conditions seem to say you only have to use the card once to claim your £40.

Has anybody used this, or know of any small print that I'm not reading up on?
Is it really this simple to claim the £40 back?!

    Hi pjrobertson

Here is more information on the offer. You get £40 credit on your BT home phone bill when you order online from https://www.bt.com either BT Total Broadband or a Package, between June 1st and July 31st 2009. This Offer is only available to customers who place their order for BT Total Broadband or Packages online. To benefit from the offer you must click on the unique link to the BT Credit Card landing page which will be made available to you at the end of the online order journey for either BT Total Broadband or the Packages. This Offer is not available to customers who order the BT Credit Card via https://www.bt.com/btcreditcard. The BT Credit Card must be used to make at least one transaction (purchase or balance transfer) within 30 days of card receipt or the £40 credit will not be made to your BT home phone bill. The £40 credit will be shown in the BT Credit Card Discounts section of your next available BT home phone bill. BT Total Broadband is subject to availability. We reserve the right to change or withdraw this offer at any time. There is no cash alternative to the offer. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. BT line/similar and payment by Direct Debit required. Terms and conditions apply, see https://www.bt.com/broadband/terms for details.

    Hope this helps

Thanks Linda, I've seen that in the small print at the bottom of the page.
Is that really all there is?

    Thanks utilitybroker,

I hadn't seen that offer. We'll probably only be going for Option 1 which only gives £35. It says for 'existing Plus BT credit card customers' so it looks like you still have to sign up for a credit card. :(

    A good heads up!
