The Tesco tills work as follows:
1) Swipe or scan clubcard to collect points
2) Swipe and/or insert chip of credit card to pay
This is the same whichever cards you use when paying.

The tills have their chip reader built into the swiper. Therefore, when using a Tesco credit card steps (1) swipe clubcard and (2) insert chip of credit card can be carried out in a single stroke.

For step (1) you earn 1 clubcard point for every pound whatever card you use (clubcard, linked clubcard, Tesco credit card, etc.)

Step (2) is treated as a normal credit card transaction whatever card you use (Tesco credit card, non-Tesco credit card) and no special clubcard points are awarded.

Each month your Tesco credit card usage is totalled and you earn an additional 1 point per £2 spent wherever:
