Vodafone seem to have some preety poor deals in their shgops & online, if you are actually with THEM (rather than through a seperate supplier)
I've been doing the same searching, but O2, & it's best to go through some of the online offers & maybe switch.
Which fone you after?

Was looking at a Nokia 6280 or 61111

Have you considered the flext tarriffs on t-mobile. I signed up to the flext35 tarriff for £26.25 a month and got a free 6280. 900 x net minutes a month or 1800 texts, or a combination of each.0

You could always order one of their free pay as you go sims from the website and provided you have a phone which will take one of thier sims you could check out your coverage before taking out a contract.0
