I ordered 8 reduced PS2 games on 22nd, and had email to say one item (David Beckham Soccer) out of stock and due to a technical error they have cancelled my order. (Many thanks) But invited me to reorder. tried to reorder and found that 6 out of the 8 games are now no longer available.

Had a good moan to their customer services to be told that if I read the terms and conditions that if they were unable to fulfill order - tough luck.  As order not showing as sent yet, not a leg to stand on. I'm well peeved.

I HATE TESCOS, I HATE TESCOS, I HATE TESCOS, I HATE TESCOS  AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH
NOW FINALLY BEEN SENT OVER THE EDGE.

PS. Their computer system is not clever enough to actually tell you if the item is in stock until maybe the next day - then takes a while to let you know by email.
    Happy xmas all.

This is the bit I can't understand..if they have sent you an email and they know for a fact that the David Beckham game is out of stock now then why is it still showing as available to buy, depatched within 24 hours on the site today? If it was out of stock last night when you ordered then why haven't they updated their website today..surely it can't be that difficult? Whatever happened to the days when you saw an item in a sale on a website ordered it and actually received it?

p.s What time did people order last night who are getting the cancellation emails?

I ordered yesterday afternoon and their email was sent at 4 this morning saying Dear Customer
I am sorry to inform you that |David Beckham Soccer has been deleted from our supplier's catalogue.
This means that, unfortunately, due to a technical error, we are unable to send the remaining item(s) from your order.
If you still require this order please re-order, omitting the deleted item.
I sincerely apologise for this inconvenience. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Why could they not have sent the rest of the order?

I suspect yet again another fast and loose no lose loss leader from Tesco, drag you in with a bargain and then drop the bombshell,

By the way I think you'll find that if you go back to the site to re order, that all the bargain items you ordered will come up a higher price or be unavailable.

They have no intention of fulfilling the orders and never did in my opinion, the Beckham deal was the clincher to kick the orders out if they weren't profitable enough.

Send them an email back advising that due to a technical hitch you have misplaced your sense of humour and are complaining to the ASA!!!

Just off the phone to them, and the disney skateing game has been with drawn and the suppliers cannot or will not supply any more to tescos so you have no chance of recieveing it, even though its still showing on website as available when i queried why i was told the website is only a guidance and they may not be able to get them from the warehouse :-/ though he did say the starwars jedi game although sold out they may get more back in but again they may not >:(

Here's where I get confused. If the website is only a "guidance" and they may not actually be able to get the stock at the advertised price..how can they legally advertise these "bargains"?.Surely there must be some law that protects consumers from companies advertising unobtainable "bargains".Otherwise companies could advertise all manner of enticing offers knowing customers won't actually be able to buy at the advertised price. Then just cancel the unobtainable items off the order leaving any higher priced goods on.

I know some get around this by having very limited numbers of the "bargain" goods available but is that the case here or have Tesco known from the start that the supplier would not supply the items at this price, yet still advertised it in order to get customers to place orders that included other higher priced goods too ?

I would like to know if ANYBODY will get the £1.99 David Beckham or £5.99 Disney skate games etc.The way I see it at the moment there are 3 possible explanations:

1.There were never any of the"bargain"games available
2.There were very limited stocks which sold out quickly
3.There was alot of stock but an Ebay seller bulk bought the lot.

I haven't had any cancellation email for my order yet so it will be interesting to see what turns up.I received a confirmation email shortly after ordering which advised my order "should be dispatched within 14 days"

I haven't received any cancellation email yet, but fully expect to get one after reading the other posts.  If I do I will complain to my local Trading Standards about the dubious practice of deliberately advertising massive price reductions which THEY KNOW they cannot stock.  If this was advertised in the press rather than on the web then the ASA would roast Tescos for such appalling behaviour, but because it's the internet they don't want to know.

ADDITIONAL: Presumably the reason they are cancelling whole orders is because the Beckham game is out of stock is to avoid being accused of blatant false loss-leading to shift other stock?  Which is what Woolies are doing, because both of the £1.99 games I ordered are cancelled, but the 3rd game I ordered is still going to be delivered.
