Evening all
Hope the Halight twins had a lovely day.
Haribo - How's husbandly relations now? I did laugh out loud at your boating antics.
Been another hot and sticky day here, oh I wish I liked summer......whilst I love the light evenings, the garden in full spurt and the washing drying quickly and easily, I do hate the sun...Having suffered from this since I was 10 and it being relentless this year (so far), I'm fit to rip my own skin off at the first contact with the sun.
OS wise today, I cooked a full roast (I do love my cool shady kitchen), the bones are bubbling away for stock, I've made lunches for tomorrow and managed to cook, cool, slice a huge gammon joint I got from the butchers yesterday - will do us 10 meals and cost £9 - bargin (even better that I know the meat is local and have seen the pigs running around in the fields)
Changed all the duvets for the summer weight ones, only dilema now is whether it's cost effective for my to wash the winter ones at the laundrette or just buy new ones...the old ones would get recycled into lapquilts (therefore a washable size)....I'm wondering if I put the winter ones on the line tomorrow for a good blast of sun and fresh air, if that would suffice....
Off to water the garden and get the teapot warmed then I'll be off to bed with a pot of tea and a book."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
The day worked out better than anticipated....DS3 was fishing and brought us home a lovely sea bass....well over a kilo in weight, so I stuffed it with fennel and lemon and roasted it with a drop of wine...delicious dinner at no cost....then it started to rain so no watering necessary, so am a very happy camper to-night.
NPM...hugs, hope that migraine eases soon.
Pooky...I would just go for the fresh air...then you can wash them when they have become lap-quilts.....
Sleep well all, it is never too early to go to bed
