    Having said that, the time to do a back-up is not when things start to fail, but before. On a five year old PC the hard drive is on borrowed time, it's not a matter of if it will fail, but when. So get your data in order before it does.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Sounds like your capacitors have budged on the powerboard and they need replacing (you can do this yourself)
