    Warning...long post...

Thanks for all your help the other day guys! I'm a morrisons shopper but attempted my first tesco coupon shop yesterday. As promised, here are the results...

Found a young, sweet looking SA to scan my £59 worth of shopping (my cupboards were bare!!)

Handed over a whole pile of MOC, which she started scanning. When she reached the New magazine one for £1.50 off Ok it beeped (is this usual:confused:) and the checkout supervisor came over. (oh no...trout alert)(i'm starting to get nervous)

She nearly had a heart attack when she saw my pile of 30 or so coupons! She said 'you surely haven't scanned all those...you cant use all those', to which I replied 'does this store not follow Tescos national coupon policy?', whilst fishing the pre-printed poilicy from my bag!;)

She replied 'you can only use 4 coupons'...*me* FOUR??...'erm..upto £10 of the value of your shop, but i'll have to park this transaction cause i'll need to speak to the manager' *whilst roughly snatching the wad of coupons from the nice young SA*

She stomped off, quickly followed by me.

I don't know what I enjoyed more, the manager telling her that I was correct, and that I could use upto the value of half my shop, or her then having to unpark my shop and then scan through all my coupons (£21 worth), meanwhile getting redder and redder!!

She never even apologised! But I did enjoy leaving her with...'Its such a shame even the checkout supervisor doesn't know their own store policy. Please inform all your staff for my future visits' (and my mum chipping in 'well, you learn something new every day!')

I would never have had the nerve to try this in the past so a HUGE THANKS for everyones help, and hopefully i'll be able to contribute something worthwhile soon.
And truth be told I miss you...

They never do appologise - they just sulk off somewhere.

The OK one was blocked ages ago. Always a good idea to keep up with blocked coupons on here, such as the forgoodnesshakes one, as when it beeps it brings attention to the rest.

    From the Grocer http://www.thegrocer.co.uk/articles.aspx?page=articles&ID=200260

"We issue 20p coupons but we had some coming back with the value of £24.31, another one £1.17. I realised the barcodes had been manipulated [by organised gangs]." Tesco agreed to refund the money after he disputed the claim.

Tesco said it allowed cashiers to accept "single coupons but not multiples" without checking if the item had been purchased because it was not practical to spend time checking.

Just goes to show that its fraud and selling of coupons that will bring the policy crashing down - not us lot getting a bit off our weekly shop.

im sure something will happen but tesco are quite large so will try and keep their age old policy.

Its not like its a big secret lol.

Must admit 1/6 misredemption is quite a high shrinkage rate lol.

Ah, I read the frequently asked Q's and under the 'i'm new and nervous' was a link to a post by coupon-mad from march which suggested trying the new magazine coupon.

Is there a specific place where the blocked coupons are listed or are they just mentioned throughout the posts?? I'm learning daily!!
