I had my coupons refused in my local store 10 days ago - no product no coupon, manager wouldnt shift, showing my copy of the coupon policy just made him more stubbon.
After 20 mins of arguing i left my shopping and walked out.
I emailed Terry ( boss man ) and here is the reply i received today.

From: Tesco Customer Service

Dear Mr XXXXXXX

Further to my previous email, I am very sorry to learn of the problems you experienced in our ******* temporary store, when you tried to redeem your internet coupons and I can understand how unhappy you must be.

As a company committed to delivering the very best in terms of customer service it is always disappointing when a customer is unhappy with any aspect of our service. Therefore in order to ensure that the points you have raised are addressed correctly, I have brought these to the attention of Steve ******, our ***** Store Manager.

Steve has asked that I pass on his apologies to you and is disappointed that you have been left with such a poor impression of his store. He was concerned to learn of the level of service you have received and has assured me that he has taken the necessary action to prevent this from happening again.

Please let me clarify our position on the acceptance of coupons in all our stores:

A Non-Tesco product coupon (branded retailer for example, Cadbury's) will be accepted even if you don't buy the item. But, the coupon must be in date and we must sell the product. If you present more than one identical coupon you need to purchase the same number of products. This also includes coupons printed from the internet. However, these may be subject to acceptance at the discretion of the Store Manager. In all cases the terms and conditions of the coupon should be printed on the coupon so that they can be referred to if necessary.

We also accept other retailers spend and save vouchers, for example £3 off if you spend £30. However, we do not accept other retailers product coupons.

Steve has assured me that the policy is being practiced in the store and is therefore unsure why his staff refused to accept your coupons.

Should you experience any further problems in the store, Steve would be more than happy to discuss these with you personally. If Steve is not on site, the Store Manager Designate will be pleased to assist you in his absence.

Thank you for taking the time to bring this matter to our attention. I do hope that despite this incident we may still look forward to being of service to you in the future.

Kind Regards

Yvonne Edmonds
Customer Service Executive

Remember it was Steve that refused to honour the policy in the first place......

It's so annoying when staff dont know the policy and it varies so much - here is my experience.

Yesterday i went to a store to buy aftershave, i was told that i could only use about 5 coupons. I told the supervisor that this was not the policy, she went to check the new training/exam brochure. I pointed the section out and sge told the c/o to accept all my coupons - i used £60 worth

Today i went to my local t's, a lady c/o would not serve me anymore as the supervisiors keep harrassing me (and her), as per previous post - btw i've been advised to take legal action here....

Now today i also went to another store as i rang and they advised they had some aftershave in. Of course they have not had any aftershave in for 2 weeks now and the staff were some the rudest i have ever witnessed. I was advised the coupon policy was 1 coupon...

Today i went to the first shop for some more aftershave, i said to the supervisor (new one) can i use all my coupons - oh yes....

Anyhow i gave them all to the girl who called some other girl over who said oh no, then the supervisor came over n said oh no not if u not bought the product. I advised i was told last night blah blah blah.... I ended up at customer services with lot tutting oh no said supervisr, oh no said c/s girl who did not have a clue... Then Joy - yeah Joy... her name was Joy; she butted in with my coupons passed to her by now. Off she went on one, u can use that one, not this one, u can use this one...

I said to her well u know the policy dont ya, she smiled and we had bitter banter as the other seriously ignorant wafers flounced off to bury there heads in the sand...

Evening all

Had a bit of a disappointing shop today. Done a fair bit of mileage looking for the cheaper fragrance with the points offers on but to no avail :-(

Then after travelling further afield to these stores who did not accept coupons either btw. I decided to stop into my lovely moc friendly store to then be told on 5 coupons per visit even though I have been using as many coupons you like for the last 16months. I think I just had an unluck day so heres to tommorow :-)

I hope so too Mrs T. Ours is now a 6 max + those for what your're buying, has been for a few months now. Makes us appreciate all those take as many as you have stores all the more.

Does anyone shop/know someone who shops in Liverpool friendly coupon stores at all?

Yeah I know it defo does make you appreciate how good you have it. I just hope mine still will. The young boy I went to looked so unsure when I handed him the coupons and he turned round to the girl on the next till and asked her. Thats when she said no only 3 coupons, I told her I had been using them for the last year or so and could I possibly speak with a supervisor. She then said she was the checkout manager  but did then say she had been off on maternity leave for a year so she would check. They were akll very nice about it but unfortunatley the next girl came back and said coupons but the checkout manager said to the boy just to take them all just now and she would get it clarified so I left the store non the wiser as to what they are going to say to me the next time.

None of my happer scanners were in today so I will make sure I defo keep any eye out for them the next time :D

sorry didnt mean to rabble on :rotfl:

Hope your store goes back to normal soon :D

Hiya peeps, just a quickie.

If you take out car or home insurance with Tesco and you are a clubcard holder, you get a free Karcher Pressure washer worth £100. Just received mine today. House Insurance was very competitive too.

Life is like a toilet roll. ;) The nearer you are to the end, the faster it goes :D

I got an email from them as well, only 50p off for me, but my printer has just jammed up. It says it is spooling and has done for the last 15 mins. I think I may have lost this coupon. How very very annoying! Grrr

Hi all'
Could anyone explain what this means? Just catching up just now so hope nobody has asked this question already.

Thanks jax
