So be warned what a RIPOFF
Not really, considering that you were given them and didn't purchase them. Stores that give vouchers like this away as part of a promotion are always going to put expiry dates on them. Because it makes a lot of sense to do so.

I'm just wondering if everyone here who has told the OP they should have read the T&Cs, have actually read the full T&Cs (every last small word) on EVERYTHING they have ever bought or signed up to?

A really simple solution to this would be for Argos employees who hand these vouchers over, to simply say "please note the expiry date". It would go a long way to helping those who don't think to read T&Cs on everything and anything. It's just a little bit of customer service :)

We do, we say that the card expires on the 14th February/26th May depending on when it was issued. The customer also signs a receipt for the gift card to accept the value, expirey date and terms of use.

The OP is taking it out on Argos because s/he didn't bother to read or remember the card.

yeh we end up learning by our mistakes aye :o

I've never had vouchers from Argos and to be honest, I would not have thought to see if there was an expiry date, I would have treat them as being the same as when you buy vouchers as presents etc

But you sign the receipt that states expiry date so regardless of SA mentioning it you are advised. Plus the fact its printed on the card.

Yes, I have a similar situation.

I was sent something through the post for free. I was so excited I didn't read the clearly stamped expiry date. When I went to use it 7 years later, I was told that it had expired! Sending me a freebie and expecting me to use it within a period of time? The cheek! I was going to buy some reading glasses that I saw for £10. Needless to say, I'll be taking my business elsewhere!
