Hi I would like to bring to everyones attention that I spent over £300 pound this year with Argos and I received a £10-00 Gift Voucher from them. Today I went to finally spend it and suddenly paying for my item they tell me that there is an expirey date date on it so I cant use it now. I contact customer service and they say there is nothing they can do! So be warned what a RIPOFF I say has anyone else experienced it? As a result I will no longer be shopping at Argos as I am so Mad and Angry. I did say that its a stupid idea for a date as it forces you to buy something when you dont need it and now when I decided to spend my voucher £10-00 I cant I say ARGOS should be called ARGCON.

Cheers for the advice. Was it a paper voucher or a card voucher you tried to pay with? The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Did you buy a Gift card (voucher) or were you given one as a reward for spending x amount?
Argos' Gift card FAQS (https://www.voucherexpress.co.uk/verse/argos/popfaqs.html) say that there is no expiry date on Gift Cards that you purchase for personal use (or as presents) but I would think that if you get a reward voucher as a result of spending x amount of money in the store there may well be an expiry date on it. Most offers like that are time limited.
Did you read the T&Cs on the back of the voucher you got?0 -
This type of promotional "reward" vouchers have ALWAYS been time limited - only true Gift Vouchers that you PURCHASE are not. Respectfully suggest you read it better next time - the expiry date is printed on it.0

I have some Argos gift card vouchers which have a three year expiry date on them BUT the ones that were issued for spending over £100 had an expiry date of only a month or two which I might add was made clear at the time of the offer and was printed on the voucher.0

Was the date not printed on the back of the voucher0

I got a promotion voucher in April for £5. The expiry date of the voucher is actually written on my receipt. It lists issue no., expiry date and promo. code. The expiry date was also on the voucher. Very hard to miss it in two places. Not a con, in my opinion. We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.0

I think they have always had a cut-off date on.
I only realised when i went for something and found my voucher had expired by just a few days.
I think the dates that go on them seem to end just before the latest offers come on,so you have to spend it before something you really want comes on special.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

Not 'Argcon' at all, how absurd.
If you received a £5/£10 voucher at Christmas they expire on the 14th February.
If you received a £5/£10 voucher at Easter they expire on the 26th May.
Expirey date printed on the back of the card if it was issued in store.
Gift cards that are purchased are valid for 3 years and ~a day or two.
Not the fault of Argos that you didn't use it in time, what a ridiculous thing to suggest - these cards are free items/gifts and were not purchased so you have no legal right to a reissue.[DISCLAIMER: Any posts made by myself are my opinions and do not represent my employer]

The conditions of the promotion does state that the voucher has an expiry date and as others state it is printed on the reciept and on the voucher. I could understand if Argos were being sneaky about it and not making it clear but they have made it clear. It's not really Argos' fault that you didn't bother to use your eyes, is it?0

The whole point is to try & encourage you to go back & shop more .... that is why the voucher has a limited time period .... not only that, but you didn't pay for this - did you??
