Went to order £500 worth of travellers cheques.
What's the significance of the "your date of travel"?
Does this date have an bearing when I go and cash them into the bank?
thanks
Don't think so - haven't heard it mentioned as something significant before."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -

Everyone else will make you wait the standard 4 days.0 -
Just letting you know I tried a £500 tester.
Received them today and put the cheques is 3 banks with no problems.
Lloyds
BOS
and the Nationwide
One question about the amount of cheques you can get online.
Is £2500 the max per transaction, or the max total?
I'm going to order and 2K just now, and hopefully another £2.5K later.0 -
Has anybody tried money speculating with this?
i.e. buy euros at 1.22 to the pound today and sell back in a couple of months when the pound is on parity maybe.
Cant be any more risky than normal currency trading and could maybe utilise the normally quoted 56 day 0% period on a stale card.
Did notice on web site that when they buy back, it will be at the exchange rate on that day, and that they will credit the card used for the purchase.
Does this mean that one can purchase with any card other than M&S card?
If so, could this facility be used to draw down limit on any 0% deal card for minimum fees?0 -
Your limited to £2,500 per transaction, but got £5,000 worth of travellers cheques online, from a £5,500 limit.
Perhaps could have squeezed more out of it, but will max it out over the next few days anyway with normal purchases.0
