International Signed For - Lost, but have no tracking number

Hi,
I've not had anything lost in the post at all in 2009, until now. And typically, I can't find the Post Office receipt anywhere.
I have managed to find the overall receipt for that day, so know I definately sent it. But I have seperated it from the rest as it would have needed to have been filed elsewhere.
The Post Office say they can't help as they keep no records, and Royal Mail refuse to help without a tracking number.
It has been just over a month since the item was sent, and it was heading to Greece.
I have a feeling I may have to refund this (£65) and forget about it.
But before I do, any advice please ??

It's always the one receipt you need that you lose isn't it? I've done the same myself although I later was lucky and found it.
Unless you had input the tracking into the paypal site you can't even prove the buyer has the item or not, and of course without any form of COP you can't make a RM claim.
Also airsure and International signed for onlycover up to £39 of loss anyway unless you paid extra for insurance, but if you did pay extra that would at least prove to RM using your overall bill that item was sent tracked, although I'm not even sure how that would help

yeah i paid extra insurance.

Oh goodness, is there any chance you have misfiled the receipt and it will turn up or is it definitely lost?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. well, i searched for quite a while but i will give it one last shot tomorrow in case its ended up in my petrol receipts or something.
i know its difficult without a tracking number, but i questioned the guy at Royal Mail who told me they "wouldn't" look into it, asking whether that meant they could, but won't.
i may have ended the call with a bit of phonerage !:grouphug:

Oh i'm gutted for you, i hope the receipt turns up. If i have a tracking number I email it to the buyer, make a note on the sales record and store the receipt just in case, hahaha. On a positive note, if its a case of they didn't pick it up from their post office etc it will get returned to you unless its really "lost".Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0

Just wondered whether Post Offices keep a record of what tracked items they have sent a particular day (ie the tracking has to start somewhere)Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
