Hi guys
Accidentally dropped my phone in the drain. Got the phone back, sim card is working okay. However i have alot of pictures on the actually phone. It was immersed for about 25 minutes. Is there anyway i can retrieve the data on it? Any place i can take it to or send it away? I don`t care how much it costs, the data on it is invaluable to me (yes i know i should have backed it all up lol). Thanks

Leave it to dry for a min of about 3 days and do not try to turn it on, it might still work. I've dropped about every one of my phones in water or something and they've all been fine.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

What i do is to take the phone apart - by which i mean , taking the back battery cover off , removing the battery sim card. everything that can be removed that doesn't need a screwdriver or force, then place each item , including the phone on a cold surface , i use the metal computer case, but a cold radiator, leave it there for a couple of days and try turning it on.Peter: Hey Lois... what's this word? General advice is to take the phone apart as much as you can and RINSE in water, to get the grime and any residue that may have stuck to the insides OFF!
Then take the phone and wrap it in a towel, then put some rice (yes the foodstuff) and put it in the middle of a tissue - it's supposed to work as a desiccant and absorb any condensation, then wrap the lot and leave it for a couple of days in the Airing cupboard. DO NOT EXPOSE it to direct heat or use a hair-dryer\radiator to speed the process along.
Then buy some cables to attach it to a computer, connect cables a couple of days later to the phone, attach battery and get the data off it quick!
Or send it away to someone who will do the same thing but charge you for it
If it's still working after getting wet, turn it off you don't know how long it will continue to do so. Get the cables, and only turn it on again when you have too to save out the data.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -

IVe dropped mine in water..took battery straight out then used car heater to dry it out..worked fine afterwards. Known phones to be dropped in toilet, puddles and pot noodle, and they all worked fine afterwards.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

I cant see it working having been submersed so long. Put it in a bag of rice. The rice will draw out what water it can (Id leave it in there for at least 3 days):idea:0

Stick it in a warm room, in low humidity, the dampness will be drawn out very quickly into the surrounding air. Basic principles of humidity/temperature
It's why people get dry skin in warm rooms on really cold day's, air at low temperatures cannot hold as much water, so when it's warmed up it tries to pull in as much moisture as possible from where ever it can.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
