Over bath shower screen

I wondered if anyone knows if there is any alternative to the glass shower screen or shower curtain for an in-bath shower?

I only have a small bathroom and think a large glass screen will overwhelm the room.

Many thanks in advance

You can get folding screens, but they are a complete FAFF to clean. We have a fairly small bathroom, but (now have) a single panel glass screen. It seems to look ok, not overwhelming... Its very plain-a chrome strip against wall and not framed, so its less "in your face" than some....

When I had a new bathroom fitted in 2007 I had a similar quandry and ended up installing an 'Outasight'. It is expensive but worth every penny IMO. All of the components are replaceable so it will last as long as the bathroom! So far I've had to replace an end cap and a strut bracket. Have had no issues with the curtain going mouldy which was my main worry.

As I'm a new poster I can't add links but if you google 'outasight shower' you'll be able to have a look.

    Many thanks,

I have seen the Outasight unit - it was about £160. It does look like a good option but I was worried about mould. Is it quite sturdy Gimlet? I have a son who is a bit heavy handed!

Thank you Canucklehead. I also looked at this one. I presume you fix a shower curtain onto the rail?

I have a folding screen and it's really easy to clean? I clean it with a normal bathroom cleaner, and just spray an after shower spray on when i've had a shower. (Wilkos and lakeland sell it).

I much prefer having a folding screen, it looks much tidier than a fixed size one.

Hi...yes with a set of snazzy curtain rings we picked up at TK Maxx. We use machine washable curtains as opposed to nasty plastic.

I just found it SO awkward, with the big sheet of glass, just run over it with a squeegee, its great, hated my folding one, think the new one looks loads better, but everyone likes different things....

I have a folding screen too - one that folds into four and goes right back up against the wall. Again never had a problem with cleaning it. I always use the after shower spray stuff too and rarely bother with a squeegee because that seems to pretty much do the job.

I've had a four-fold one and a single door type and in both cases I found the seals got damaged quickly and looked unslightly.

I'm thinking I might try to Outasight or a two panel sliding one as I found the single door one was not long enough.
