funny my daughter wasnt impressed either ! we chose butlins because of the supposed child friendly activities but if you are over 3 yrs old you are stuffed basically. even in the school hols its full of drunks late at night , maybe people were so p***ed off they needed to drink to pass the time !!

I am really surprised by that, when we went last year there was so much to do we couldn't fit it all in and we were there for a week!

We have stayed in Butlins accomodation (apartments) and also caravan and much prefer the caravan. The apartments are too noisy, you can hear people just walking around, we could even hear a bathroom fan going all night

we have been to Minehead and Skegness
prefered Skegness and our kids liked it
better too. Minehead was just as nice
but the journey there was a killer we
travelled from Liverpool it was too far to
travel in one day with young kids,we agreed
at the time if we did it again we would stagger
the journey with an overnight stay somewhere.

There is plenty to do at Butlins for the kids
ours even played floodlit football on a few
of the nights we were at Skegness.
It was the one holiday we were dragging them
off to bed at night. The swimming pool is lovely
and there seemed to be lots of organised things
    for the kids to do.

We also had a day out to alnwick Castle where
they filmed the Harry Potter flying lesson scenes
ours loved it there they also have the biggest tree
tree house in the world and amazing water
fountains and everything was laid out so the kids
could run around to their hearts content and
no one gets upset which made a nice change.

  • we go to butlins minehead and skegness, my children are aged 14,12,9. they all love it. we tend to visit minehead more than skegness. due to the local area. there are plenty of activities at all locations tho.
