How about a goldfish? Cute and something to look after a bit...
Sounds odd but I've never had fish and i don't have a clue what to do with them. How do you clean out there tanks etc? What do they need? Could be something to look into thought. I think I'd get a decent sized tank if I was going to get a fish and get a few. But then I wouldn't do it at all unless I knew what on earth I was talking about.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.84 December 25

LOL, well when I was a kid and had them, it was a case of emptying the bowl into the kitchen bowl with fish, cleaning their bowl and filling it up and then catching them by hand and putting them back.
Of course if you go with more exotic ones then you will need all heating lighting and so on.0 -
I think a fish is a good idea, I have four fantail goldfish and I love them....
But goldfish aren't really that easy to look after, they need at least 40litres per fish fior the fancies (the fat wobbly ones) and 100l per common (long thin ones)...So you would need a fairly big tank.
If you want you can get a small tank (say 15litres or so) and keep a male siamese fighter or a paradise fish. But they do say to get as bigger tank as you can afford and find room for because bigger tanks are easier to keep all the water levels etc right. There are some beautiful marine tanks kicking around, but they cost an absolute bomb to set up (but I can keep dreaming!)
I love my fish and I like to watch them when there is nothing good on telly (which is most of the time!)
Or how about a couple of giant african land snails???0 -
