Another vote for the science museum, although it gets mega busy at the weekends, and make sure you take your own packed lunch, it is beyond extortionate in there!
Alternativly there is the Manchester University Museum, my two always have a ball in there, they have real mummies in there, a vivariam with snakes and lizards and things, a big hall with stuffed animals and birds, and then the dinosaur and space area has a giant T-Rex! Much quieter than museum of science and industry but a little bit futher to travel.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Linky to information about the parade (the "Procession") for the festival. Not sure if it's a kiddie thing really.
Definitely recommend the MOSI (Science Museum), I've been twice now
Not sure about eating places - no kids yet!
Will scour the local papers for you.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls
MSE: many of the benefits of a helpful family, without disadvantages like having to compete for the tv remoteProud Parents to an Aut-some son

We always like going to a place just off St Peter's Square, I think on Oxford Road called Don Giovanni's. They used to do a fixed price menu but I don't know if they still do. But they are really nice and if you don't want something exactly as it is on the menu they will change things. For example when the kids were very young, they would just do a portion of pasta with cheese & veg for them.
If you are prepared to travel out of the city, we had a fab carvery meal for something crazy like £3.99 per head for adults & £2.50 for children at a place called the Hare & Hounds on Stockport Road on the Timperley/Altrincham border, to the south of the city.
Oh dear, I am getting all nostalgic. I'll have to go "home" to visit my dad very soon....!0 -

The trams into the city centre are not running at the moment as there is work being done on them for the next few months, so you may need to check the buses out.0
