21 months old and seeing as it's a known problem use your statutory rights and get it replaced0

Cheers Rich, going to need an idiots guide on how to do it - guess the consumer forum is a good start. I know dealing with HP via India or wherever their CS is will be a royal PITA!0

It's a fault that I have heard of on HPs and also Acers, I can remember asking somewhere else for help with mine and was told that a guy's HP did it, and basically it starts with small flickers/strips/random features, and from that point you have about a month before it goes completely.0

How do I start in safe mode please?
It's a DV2000 actually, and is 21 months old so guess it's out of warranty. Is this overheating a problem then?
Most definately. My dv6000 simply gets too hot to rest on your legs. Mainboard has been replaced several times, now it's got all manner of problems starting up and its out of warranty. £700 down the Swanee:rolleyes:
