Didn't want to start a new thread, but how can I encourage male flowers??? I had about 4 courgettes that stayed small, and there are further 3-4 flowers that are the same, female ones. So, I can't see having any proper courgettes any time soon... I really one to get some. Please, any suggestions?Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

We have been give a lot of courgettes and don't know what to do with them - I have never cooked them. I know I can stuff them but if I just want them as another vegetable with meat do I fry or boil them?0

Wife likes them sliced then boiled until just tender, ( a very few mins )

Do you have any other members of the same family? cucumbers, pumpkins, butternut squash? If they have a male flower, you can cross pollinate it but you can't save the seed.
They will produce male flowers soon0 -

Unfortunately not.... My cucumbers died off, as well as other courgettes. I have the only plant left, which is going strong, but only female flowers!!!! It was not a good year for me so far.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

I am not even sure where is one around me!!!! Oh well, I'll try to be patient. Just in this weather nothing is growing well and the flies /slugs are helping themselves so much!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Why don't you ask on here if there is a forum member in your area. I'm sure there will be someone around that could give you some pollen. I had a go at mine, as I was having male flowers but few female flowers, and now, at last I am getting a pretty good yield.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D
