We went to buy two copies of the same book. The first one scanned at 18.99. Second one ditto, but this one had their price sticker on it showing 17.99. So she had to reduce the till price. Then had to do it for the first one. She was not happy. Especially when I pointed out that their own website had them for £14.24 and she refused to match it, so we left without actually buying them.
Did you check the website before going to the shop?
Was there P&P on top of this?
You can see where I am going with this............0 -

Sat in my car and double checked it , price tags against the receipt THEY HAD OVERCHARGED ME BY MORE THAN £50 !!! some items by pence , some by £££ss
Went back in and got the money back and an apology but thats not the point IT SHOULDNT HAPPEN and how many people are they ripping off daily ??
The biggest shock was the staff saying it happens ALL THE TIME !!!
Surely there is something legally that can be done??
(Oops, I accidentally pressed the Thanks button instead of the Quotes button. That's about the 3rd time I've done that. Sorry!)
Did you go back to the person who served you to get your money back? If so, you might want to ring the shop, speak to the manager, and make sure they know about it. The assistant might have just been phenomenally careless, but if all the errors were overcharges, with no under-charges, more likely it was a dishonest assistant. And if all his mates were agreeing that it happens all the time, several of them may be doing it. Which branch was it?0 -
How would you not know the approx price of your books before purchase?0

But what if a child was overcharged? They may be mentally scarred and never be able to form human relationships due to their trust in humanity being destroyed.0

overcharged, went back, got a refund and apology.
if your not satisfied with that then maybe you need to instigate a moral crusade?

Especially if there was a horse involved!

I doubt that thread will rest for a long time yet....
I'm not sure what's funnier - the OP's story or the fact that they pretended to be a "tech guy" to verify their story!"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0 -
*yawn*
:mad:If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

None of this happened.
Please don't darken this forum's doors with such utter, utter bollock$ ever again.
